I grabbed these here some months ago and have been very happy with the razor and the shave! Been using the same blades for 2 weeks and I get a great shave every time: close and comfortable the first pass! I use Barbasol shaving cream and I'm buying this again right now for the additional blades. Besides, who doesn't want to look like you're shaving with a tuning fork? For this price, try it and decide for yourself...

Each cartridge is good for ONE shave. I don't even think it was working well when I got to the end of my second leg. I wouldn't pay 5 cents for this!

Personally I think it works great for womens needs. No problem here. Close, smooth. and no cuts. A bargain for me.

Worst blade you will ever have in your hand!

Avoid the disappointment and just throw the $7 out the window and be done with it.

If the low price is all that matters, just send me $7 and I'll send you absolutely nothing! It will be better spent money than these blade were!

Wooter's ..... it's $7 worth of disappointment.

They're not that bad, really. I bought these a couple of Woot-offs ago, and I'm pretty happy with them.
Granted, I have a fairly light beard, but, once I got used to the rather odd ergonomic design, I found I can get a good, close shave with these. One blade lasts me about two weeks, versus my old Schick Hydro blades, which were good for over a month. The hydro gave a closer shave, but the blades cost over four dollars apiece, so I think this is a good deal (at least for me). If you have Sasquatch face, i.e. a heavy beard, you may want to avoid these.

Compared to other cartridges, say the Gillette Turbo razors that I'm used to using, these razors are not that great. They don't shave as smoothly, nor do they last as long. However, having said that, you're getting a lot of razors in this package for a very cheap price. Having used these for a while, I would say that these are a great value for the money.

Ok. I'll give woot! a pass with all of the re-furb junk they've been hocking, but to ignore the hundreds of complaints from those who've taken the time to do so with these razors is nearly unbelievable.

My advise to woot! is load up the remaining stock and haul it off to a recycling center. Oh wait....it's cheaper to lower the price and charge a loyal customer shipping, and let the customer toss this junk in the trash for you. Bad woot! Very Bad

These things are more like the Intern of Shaves instead of the King of Shaves, as they haven't figured out how to do their job yet.

I got a set of these the last time they were on Woot, and I found myself rocking a five o'clock shadow on my face around 11 AM in the morning.

Oh, and forget using these if you have a few days of stubble growth on your face, as they literally won't cut it.

I bought these to shave my legs. Men's razors give a much closer shave than women's razors do. Our are so antiquated compared to all the technology that goes into men's. These work well for my purpose, but I'm not shaving a forest either. Leg hairs are softer than facial hair, so worth the investment over the high price of all others. I also find them somewhat difficult to clean but I'm in the tub and can give them a good swishing in the water. Soak for a bit to soften the hairs, and shave a way. Shaving my legs forces me to take a bath to relax, so I have some me time. Yeah, I could do it in the shower, but a bath is so much more relaxing. Add some bath salts, read your Kindle, and RELAX for a bit.

Works better than my Gillette Fusion ProGlide blades (Lasts far longer). Definitely harder to get the hair our but at the price who cares.

Only real downside is that it doesn't have a trimming blade like the fusion.

kahuna75

I can't believe all the complaining about buying the Fusion or Mach 3 etc. blades...so $2 a cartridge is too much for you? Really and they last a few weeks? Too much to pay for a great shave?

With the amount of time you spend reading woot comments and deciding on if this is a good deal you could have sold that Mr. Spock doll or Kirk Cameron signed photo on Ebay and bought a years supply of Fusion Blades.

Really folks talk off your lightsaber, put your 3d glasses away and toss that Mochiatta to the side and go buy a friggin real razor blade at the store.

Oh and if your really are over the top for not wanting to spend all that dough on a razor cartridge go buy your Sunday Paper for $1.50 as they always have a $5 off coupon in the inserts.

The "one perfect razor" is a myth.

The perfect shave is close enough to look good, while not so close that you get razor-burn. Each brand seeks to strike that balance.

For some beards, it is a bad choice, for other the right one.

Similarly, shaving creams and other preparations try to balance adding comfort and lubrication with over-moisturizing (causing breakout, etc.) Depending on your skin and the time of year you may either get zits or dry looking skin. I can use a LOT more moisturizing in winter in Minnesota than summer in Florida!

Then there is user error. Not sufficiently soaking the beard, fattening the hair stubble, etc.

So whether I get a decent shave with these units (which I do) and you don't is not a blanket condemnation or praise of the product. I doesn't work for you, just as a Norelco doesn't work for me.

And, if customer service history is any guide, usually it is the unhappy campers who write in and complain.

Make sense?

bot last time, in again

once i figured out handle design was the problem, work fine
you need to hold handle 60 deg to face the pictures they show are not correct
for some reason when you use normal shave angle they do not shave well
compare handle design with others to see angle difference

I bought these for my husband the last time they were up, realizing after reading the comments that they may be unusable. Sure enough - they clogged with the first stroke. But they work on my legs just fine, so the money wasn't completely wasted. They will last me FOREVER. My recommendation would be that they are a great buy for a woman to use for leg-shaving but terrible for men. But the rule of thumb is the coarser the hair, the fewer the blades, so this is no real surprise.

I got 18 blades when I ordered it the last time. They were unusable for my husband but worked great on my legs. A side by side comparison with my Venus razor and the shave was about the same.

What kind of stuff are you using on your face? Superglue? A lot of non-foam tube products contain mineral oil, which will clog up anything---unless you are taking it internally, in which case the opposite happens. [joke #3]

Good post, but I couldn't help but notice you completely ignored the number one complaint with this product, and it's the fact there is a design flaw that causes the blades to clog with shavings.
I wasn't able to even get one complete shave from these.
My mistake was in thinking if it's a 5 blade design, it must be as good as any other. Not true for this razor, and you know it.

I bought these last time around and I have to say, THEY ARE AWESOME! I have a very thick beard and I used to use the Gilette Fusion 5 blade but got tired of only getting 3 or 4 shaves out of them before my face started getting completely nicked up, and having to shell out $30 for new blades every couple of months. These Remington blades last much longer than the Fusion (at least twice as long so far in my experience) and the shave is much closer as well.

The only negative I can say is that I find it hard to get to that little bit of hair that remains directly under my nose, the part I used to get to with the trimmer blade on the back of the Fusion. I wish Remington would add that to the design. That could just be because of the shape of my nose though.

I don't know why so many comments say that these Remington blades are hard to clean. I've never had a problem with that at all. If you rinse the blade under running water after every few passes it shouldn't ever clog.

For whatever reason, clogging has not been an issue for me. I honestly think that the clogging depends on the shaving "cream" used.

I ended up getting some Remington shave prep (made in the UK!) from their site. They have unscented with menthol and it is non-greasy (no mineral oil). There is an extra moisture version (claimed for sensitive skin) but my particular skin is much better off not doing that much moisturizing. I also really don't like the big moisturizing strips found on a lot of brands.

I think men are so passionate about this, as they need to do it every day.

I hated shaving so much that I had a beard for 10 years. But it was the 70's and, along with the wire-rimmed glasses, I looked like 90% of the guys walking around and was often mistaken for other people.

All you could see was the beard and the wire rims. (The blue chambray work shirt and jeans completed the effect.)

I don't understand all the negative comments. I bought the maximum amount the last time around, and I've used them now for a couple of months. As others have said, they aren't the greatest shaver you can buy, but for the money, they are absolutely the BEST value I have ever seen in a shaver. I haven't had the clogging problem others mention, but I agree the blade attachment mechanism is a bit clunky. Bottom line is: Close shave, No cuts, Ultra-cheap. What's not to like?

I bought these from the last Woot-Off and use them on a daily basis with shaving soap and get a better shave then I do buying the bulk disposable Bics. I have not had the problem with clogging that everyone else seems to get, Maybe due to using the shaving soap instead of cream or jell?

Very awkward design on the handle. Not comfortable to use as if the handle were backwards. A decent shave but not a product I would use again.
