Different people have different understandings of the word "clean" but we can pretty much all agree that a toothbrush needs to be damn near perfect. Because otherwise, ew.

Purity looked at the shared bathroom and sighed. She trusted her roommate, Chastity, and Honor certainly wouldn't have touched her toothbrush… but the other girls? Maybe she was being paranoid, or maybe she was just being intelligent.

Probably Juliet and Ophelia down the hall were nice enough, they'd waved at her when they passed in the coffee shop and they seemed sincere. But then there was Scarlett, in the single room nearest to the bathroom. She was always listening to loud music and seemed comfortable walking back to her room in nothing but a loose towel. That wasn't a life Purity could accept. And that wasn't the sort of life she'd trust her toothbrush around.
