The ball itself is made of ABS and polycarbonate, the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. It combines high impact strength with resistance to distortion. The ball also holds the heaviest component (the motor), positioned towards the base for a lower center of gravity and greater stability. Dyson uses Cyclone technology, spinning the air at incredibly high speeds. Dust, dirt, and pet hair are flung out of the airflow and straight into the bin. The DC50 is the first Dyson upright vacuum to feature a double stack of cyclones.
