Melissa & Doug Wooden ABC/123 Blocks Set

These blocks are on the smaller side, but that's perfect for your little one's hands. Note that for this set the letters and images on other faces do not correlate, so you might have letter B and then a crocodile or something. At this price they are a great value and can be used for a variety of things like learning letters, rolling them like dice and practicing storytelling with what shows up, math, spelling, colors, solid/outline, etc... well worth it! Also comes with a nice little bag to store them in.

As soon as these blocks arrived I knew i hit it gold, because my roomate of 7 years was sooooooooo JEALOUS. Incredibly well made blocks, perfect for building, spelling, and learning maths. The looks of envy were so powerful from the roomie, I immediately wrapped these in gift wrap and gave them to my Grandniece. She cried for a good 20 minutes because nobody wanted her to rip into them right away, but they do come with an excellent sack for storage!

My son loves these I just feel like they are on the smaller side and the paint kind of chips but overall it’s a really great toy!

These were bought for my great niece. She loves blocks. I like them but thought they were bigger.

These are fresh out of the box. Printing on many blocks is off center or miss print. Paint on blocks is flaking off. I have some arbitrary extras though no missing blocks. Something to take note of, blocks are small which are harder for a new stacker.

The blocks are good toys, very useful for teaching. The distribution of letters/numbers could be much better though. For example, painted 1, 2, 3, and 4 have the same number etched on a second side, which reduces utility. For some reason I also got a ton of painted J's, but few of common letters like C's and U's. A multiply/divide block would be nice too. Even though I didn't buy this in a store, the packaging leaves a bad taste. The blocks you can see through the box are all of them. The parts behind cardboard are just foam filler. It feels like they are trying to con their customers. I'm surprised Melissa & Doug would harm their brand like this. Trust is so important for kids toys.

Like others have said, they are smaller than expected, however I can't fault the product as the description clearly states 1 inch blocks. So, that's really my fault for not reading it. My problem, unfortunately lies with the fact that all the blocks fell out of the box into the bag because the box was severally damaged. It was hard to fix. Luckily, my 3 year old won't care but the plastic edges were sharp and little pieces went everywhere. Some of the blocks as well are chipping making me uneasy about tiny splinters, especially if my 5 month gets a hold of one and tries to use it as a teether. I'm not really worried about the paint chipping (which I haven't seen yet) more so the wood chipping.
