Norpro Corn Cutter, 10.5",Yellow

I purchased two of these for use when we froze sweetcorn this year. Last year I froze 72 quarts of sweetcorn using a handheld sweetcorn knife - it was much better than using a standard knife but my hand was still super cramped after two nights of cutting. . .and cutting. . .and cutting. After seeing a similar product on a youtube video being used in conjunction with a drill to cut sweetcorn I had to give it a shot. I bought two so my dad and I could both use them. In short - it made a HUGE difference. We froze 76 quarts of sweetcorn this year, and the total time - picking it, shucking it, blanching it, and cutting it, was about 6 hours. The cutting was SOOO much faster with these and a drill. We found quickly that we needed to use paddle bits - stab them into the end of the corn - have the drill in reverse (looking at the teeth on the cutter, it's designed to be spun clockwise, so the corn needs to spin counter clockwise) and then we sent ear after ear of corn through them. We like to scrape the cob pretty clean so the corn has an almost creamed texture in with the kernels and this even did an amazing job with that. This was the easiest ever for preparing sweetcorn to be frozen or canned. I would definitely recommend trying this product.
