This makes the best coffee I've had. We have a Chemex, a pump-powered Italian espresso machine, and French presses. All methods have their unique advantages and we continue to use them all. But this Moka Express combines the best of each method. It allows through the ciffee oils (like a French Press) to create a complex flavor. It is steam-pressured to capture an intense-strength result (like an espresso press or perculator). It separates the brewery coffee from the heat for a smooth unturned texture (like a Chemex). This is now our go-to method. It also allows us to use our gas stove rather than our outrageously expensive electricity. And, it is almost as easy to clean as the Chemex, just as easy to clean as the French Press, and a LOT easier than an espresso machine. It has turned my previously non-coffee drinking wife into a daily coffee drinker.
