Works Great for Me!
By Tell It Like It Is on Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2011
Our kitchen is under construction and so is half the house. For now, I have to rough it with a make-shift kitchen, so I got one of these burners. I didn't expect much. I actually don't like cooking on electric burners and always preferred gas cooking, but I have to say, this gadget works better than any gas stove I've used and better than any electric stove I've used, even the newer ceramic flat-top kind. I get perfect home popped pop corn and it heats up vegetables and soup in no time. I've yet to burn anything, even the pop corn and I've been using this thing for 3 months. The only thing to be careful about is that this gets VERY hot, VERY fast! Almost instant. So you do need to be careful not to burn yourself. When I'm done using it, I unplug it to be sure there are no accidents. I am ordering another one so I can use two at a time or keep one in a different location. I told my spouse that we will be keeping these to be used after the new kitchen goes in. Why experiment with an unknown stove, when one of these gives us perfect popcorn every time? Same with anything else we cook. And for the price, this is a great bargain. I'm sorry some people didn't like theirs. They might have gotten a "lemon" or they might not know how to cook on electric burners if they're new to it, but I can only give it a 5 star rating because for us, its a great product at a great price.

small, efficient, clean - *disintegrating after 2 or 3 years of regular use
By K on Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2013
UPDATE #3: March 2016: IT CAUGHT FIRE, WAS SHOOTING SPARKS ALL OVER THE ROOM. It set off the fire alarm in my apartment building, and heated up the entire room, flaring and flaming dangerously. We had to extinguish the fire. My furniture and floor were burned by sparks and mini shrapnel from the coils! I will add photo / video soon. UPDATE #2: March, 2016 -- The coils have begun to disintegrate, and also they're converging so that they run together. See the photos. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before the unit is no longer operable. And it's probably not safe for me to continue to use it in this condition. I'm not sure what the warranty is like for this thing, as I tossed the packaging some time ago, but I'll contact the company to let them know that mine is literally falling apart after 2 or 3 years of regular use to boil water for tea. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I use this daily to make coffee, tea, and occasionally re-heat food. After about 3 weeks of use, it's still functions perfectly and is as clean as new. It is much smaller than I was expecting, which is a bonus in my small place. It heats very quickly, and I have experienced none of the auto-shutoff issues mentioned by other reviewers (although, it has done this when I boil a large amount of water, but does not affect the boiling - I think it's actually good that it has this feature, for safety). Overall, excellent bargain - I will update if the unit fails at some point. *UPDATE (August 2015): It's been 2 years, and I'm still using my burner daily to make coffee, tea, and occasional pasta. No problems and it still looks great. Great buy, highly recommended.
