Whitmor 4-Tier Supreme Shelves

We purchased one of these 4 shelf wire shelving items to use with the 4 other sets of 4 shelf Seville Classics items that come with wheels. I didn't need the wheels because I just needed more shelves so I tried ordering these as they were less expensive. I thought that the lower price was because they were without the caster wheels. They are both rated 350 lbs/shelf so I thought they would be identical. When these arrived, I noticed the box was lighter than the Seville's I had gotten a few days before. When I opened the box I realized that these shelves are light weight in comparison to the Seville shelves. All the wires are lighter weight in the construction. They are probably fine for normal duty applications so I do give them 4 stars but they are not as sturdy as the heavier duty shelves from Seville so I stopped as soon as I realized this and slid them back in the box and they are going back to Amazon today. I already ordered another set of Seville and while I don't need the casters, I might find use for them elsewhere. What is weird is that both companies rate them at 350 lbs/shelf yet one is obviously much stronger than the other. Either Seville is being conservative or this one is over-rating their capability. I have no desire to test them to find out. I wish both companies would make shelves taller than 54" that are 14-inch deep. Added 9/1/2012. I was in Costco the other day and noticed a 54" shelf in black which appears to be identical to this one except it is black and this is chrome--neither have caster wheels. The pricing was significantly less than even this Amazon pricing. Accordingly I have reduced the "star" rating by one to reflect the fact that the pricing for this item is on the high side. It also underscores the difference in the shelf strengths.
