Low-cost Citrus Juicer
By AmazonCustomer on Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2006
I was looking for a lemon and lime juicer, something easy to use and cheap. This item fits the bill wonderfully. It's three pieces. The bottom cup has a little spout on it. It also has a non-skid ring on the bottom to help prevent splippage. The top and bottom cups are graduated with Tbls, ml, and Cups measurements. All three pieces fit very well together and disassemble easily. Also, the manufacturer states that this is dishwasher safe, though I hand-wash mine. My mother in law has already made lots and lots of bottles of her "healthy" style lemonade with this contraption. When you're done, it fits easily into a tall drawer/cubbard. It is made entirely out of plastic, so we'll see how long this thing lasts, though I personally only plan to use it infrequently. All in all, I feel like I got a really good value at ~$5, especially compared to all these other more expensive juicers that may or may not juice all that well. UPDATE 7 years later: Well, it's now spring 2013, and we still use this little item to make lemonade. We also wash it in the dishwasher. Still works great and in great shape. UPDATE 9 years later: The bottom finally cracked when my preschooler accidentally dropped it on the floor when juicing limes. Oh well. Almost got to a decade. Up until then, it was in perfect condition. Also would wash it in the dishwasher too. Time to get another one.

Great for the price, just adequate functionality.

Would not want to use this daily as a juicer, but great if you want something cheap for infrequent use. Pros: juices oranges, limes, lemons well, bit small for grapefruit. Juicer has small “ribs” on it that help the process. Cons: teeter-totters a bit. A little hard to take the small bowl off for cleaning, gotta get a grip and pry hard. Small bowl only holds about 1/4 cup, i.e. one orange’s worth, so muxt keep pouring off. Larger bowl for some reason does not fit onto the juicer so can’t use it as a bottom, which would be great. They designed it to be cute (spherical) but would have been much better with more of a flat bottom for stability. Rim around the juicer is rather small, so it quickly fills with pulp; keep a spoon handy to empty the rim out or else the juice starts to overflow. All those pros and cons aside, the take-away is: good for infrequent use, and compact storage size. Not for frequent use. Looks dishwasher safe on top rack.
