Actually tastes like raspberry
By TizMeRenee on Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2023
It actually tastes like raspberry and smells really good as well. I have tried so many different ones and all but this one disappointed. It's strong and sweet so I don't use the recommended amount. I use much less. I also add chocolate creamer and make my own flavored raspberry chocolate coffee.

Too over powering

I guess this would be better than receiving a syrup that can't be tasted at all. The flavor is definitely there. But this is just too much for me. It's also more bitter and less sweet than expected. I wanted to try this as an alternative flavor for my coffee rather than the norm like chocolate, hazelnut, vanilla, peppermint, etc. I wanted something different and reading prior reviews got me interested. I disliked it with my first cup. I feel I was conservative to how much I added (using less than a previous noted recipe) but it was just too much. I also don't like my coffee looking so red in color, kind of a turn off. But that's just me and my preferences. I will say, I certainly thought the idea was creative to whoever originated it! So, I've decided to use this product for other uses. Mainly sauces and desserts. I made a strawberry compote, adding this to the recipe vs buying fresh raspberries which can be more expensive and this was a perfect substitution. It can also add great color, not just flavor. If you add this to the base ingredients of a cheesecake, it gives it a nice pink color to make a nice raspberry cheesecake. You can also add this to savory sauces such as Merlot, or a honey mustard glaze which can add a hint of sweetness and unique flavor to the sauce. I found after using it in several recipes, my suggestion to others is to use it as compliment and not as a main attraction to get the most of this product. I also think it is a fair price for a convenient product especially in comparison to the alternative which is buy fresh ingredients (expensive) and the time it takes to make it yourself.
