Adaptor worked as designed, cat malfunctioned
By H B on Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2025
I bought this for my cat to drink from the bathroom sink, because I have used several fountains and they become high maintenance and expensive with constant filters. She was annoyed that I downgraded her to a simple bowl of water. Anyway, I couldn't head to the bathroom without her almost knocking me down to get in there first. Then I got tired of turning on the faucet for her to drink, but kitty didn't know how to turn off the water. So, I thought a motion sensor adaptor would work. To train her, I used my index finger to demonstrate to her how motion activated the water flow. She picked up on the training, but it wasn't a consisent action with her. She had brain lapses where she thought mom's finger was the operator. When she disappeared for lengths of time, I would find her sitting on the sink looking helpless. I wasn't going to stay up at night to "water" her, either. So, back to a new fountain and no-no kitty on the sink.

This low cost solution...cost me hundreds of dollars!

First you need to know this will not fit a Price Pfister. You have to purchase an adapter. I watched all the video and it "looked" simple enough. We got this because our 95 year old father has difficulty remembering to turn off the water. The easy installation was not so easy. I had to purchase an adapter and I could not get the device to attach to the faucet without leaking under the pressure of the water. You are supposed to be able to leave the water turned on so you can use the hand sensor. Unfortunately the hand sensor NEVER worked. While I was testing the 3 minute turn off... which did work... the pressure of holding the water under pressure with the device caused something inside the faucet to break and water poured under the sink from up inside the faucet base. At this point I was forced to purchase a new faucet! Which meant I had to Purchase TWO because it was a double vanity sink. I also had to get a plumber to replace the faucets. So my cost for this $35.99 fix was - device $35.99 - adapter $1.95, TWO new faucets $109, Plumber $185.00. Total cost for a device that never worked right $331.94
