Awesome & Fun!
By Cathie on Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2013
We wanted a pool that was big enough that a few people could get in and be comfortable, but not so big that we needed to use chemicals or items to clean. I live in Texas and the heat is just rude! It's only June and the temp has not been below 90 for 2 weeks now. I ran across this pool and kept it in my faves for a while, and ordered it about 2 weeks ago. SO glad we got it!!At first, we put the pool on our grass in the back yard. We had to use our shop vac as the air compressor hose is too small to fit the large holes where you blow it up, We kept the pool up in that place for about a week. Reason being - we have a Bulldog who loves to swim. She has her own pool but she doesn't care where she gets n the water, just as long as she can get wet - so we decided to try it on or patio. We swept the patio and put the pool up there and it is even better then the yard, even with concrete floor. My husband and I get in it every day. There's enough room for both of us to stretch out, have our head on one side and our feet the other. There's also enough room for us to inflate a chair float, if we want to use that. We don't do any kind of jumping around as we are in our late 40's - 50, but we do have 2 grandchildren who, our 4 year old granddaughter LOVES to play in it!Even with us getting in it every day, the water has remained clean, with the exception of a few leaves and some grass <from mowing>, but that stuff is easily removed. But we do change the water out completely every 2 weeks. Here in Texas, it's s hot that the water is usually very hot when we get in it, <and I do mean hot, like sauna water!!!> so we dump a little water and add a bit to make it comfortable. We were outside a few days ago and it was over 100 degrees, and we were watering our garden, when we heard a big splash. We turned around to see our 88 pound Bulldog swimming in our pool. I freaked out because this pool is Vinyl after all, but she didn't cause any damage whatsoever to the pool! She jumped in and out of that pool at least 15 times, and still no damage. I wouldn't recommend letting your dog in this pool, and we've been teaching her "No", but we were both surprised she didn't ruin the pool!We did purchase the cover for this pool so we wouldn't have to clean it so much, and it works just fine. There is a way to put the cover on the pool so it doesn't get blown off by high winds, and so far we haven't had any problems with it at all. We put our chair float in the middle, put the cover on and it all stays put until we're ready to use it.All in all, I feel this pool is definitely worth the $40 I paid for it <I got free ship with Amazon Prime! - Gotta love Prime!!>. I would purchase this pool again if anything happens to ours, which I'm sure something will as it IS Vinyl! It's not a high cost above ground metal pool, so we don't expect it to last forever. This pool may be vinyl, but it is very strong. If you take proper care of it, it will last you a while. But it is doing it's job beautifully and we are very happy with it!Just know that if you have kids that'll be using this pool - if they play with toys in it - the toys may rip or tear the vinyl, or they may ruin it by excessive jumping <it may pop one of the levels>.

Will not stay inflated
By Kindle Customer on Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2019
I've always had great luck with Intex pools. I had this same pool when my children were younger and it lasted for years. I ordered this one for my grandchildren knowing from experience it would be large enough that the almost 3 year old would not constantly be being told to be careful of the younger babies 7months and 9months in their floats. I also knew it would be deep enough for them to be in their floats and for her to have fun in and for me to put a float in when they aren't here!!! I read the reviews about it not staying inflated and such but since my past experience had been so great, I ignored them. I should not have. The older model had screw on caps on the openings and these caps snap on and they do not fit well at all. They are difficult to get back on once inflated and the air pressure often pops them right back off. once you do manage to get them back on, the bottom ring only stays inflated for a day, maybe two at the most. Which means emptying the pool, running an outdoor extension cord across the yard and blowing it back up with the air-mattress pump or pulling out the leaf blower and then refilling the pool. The reason I purchased the additional cover was so that I did not have to refill the pool several times a week. The cover and some bleach everyday prevents that from being necessary. Which even the cap for the drain hold snaps on instead of screws on now and the pressure from the water draining makes it flip over and prevent the water from draining. That was an easy fix as I simply snipped off the plastic piece that held it to the pool however, now it would be much easier to lose that piece. The older model had a drain plug that screwed into place but was attached to the pool, just like the other caps. I would have given this pool a great review IF intex had stayed with their original design for the caps.
