Just because the cat scratches at it, doesn't make it a quality made item

Bought this scratching post to replace one that showed excessive wear from the cat scratching it. The build quality could be better. There is a gap in the ropes of the 2 poles that screw together. The carpet is too silky, and cheap. Carpet should be a better loop quality.
