Texas Instruments TI-30XS MultiView: The Perfect Balance of Power and Simplicity
By Arun on Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2025
As someone who uses calculators daily for both work and academic purposes, I can confidently say the TI-30XS MultiView is one of the best scientific calculators available in this price range. The standout feature is definitely the 4-line display that allows you to see multiple calculations at once. This has saved me countless mistakes by being able to visually confirm my work before moving forward. The ability to scroll through previous calculations is incredibly useful when working through complex problems or when you need to check your work. The math print mode is a game-changer - seeing fractions, exponents, and square roots displayed exactly as they would appear in a textbook makes complex calculations much more intuitive. The toggle feature between fraction and decimal forms is particularly helpful when precise answers are needed. For students, this calculator hits the sweet spot between functionality and allowed features for standardized tests. It's approved for most major exams including the SAT, ACT, and AP tests, which means you can use the same calculator for classwork and test day. Battery life is excellent - I've been using mine regularly for months without needing a replacement. The build quality is solid and durable with good key response. At just under $20, it offers tremendous value compared to graphing calculators that cost 5-6 times as much but aren't necessary for many courses. The only minor drawback is the learning curve if you're coming from a basic calculator, but the included quick reference guide helps tremendously, and after a few days of use, the button layout becomes second nature. Whether you're a student, teacher, or professional who needs reliable scientific calculations, the TI-30XS MultiView delivers exceptional performance and usability at an affordable price point. Highly recommended!

Display is poor
By Susan M on Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2025
The calculator works well and has lots of nice features, like the mathprint feature. Unfortunately, the cheapo display is highly pixelated and colored blue against gray background making it difficult to see. Otherwise, a good value for the money. If I were buying another I would look for a modern display.
