Mastrad 12" Stainless Steel Tongs

This is certainly a strongly constructed pair of tongs and should last as long at the silicone tips do. The silicone at the grip area makes holding the tongs easier/less slippery. However, I have two problems with my tongs. One, the resistance spring is so strong that my hand actually gets tired if I use it for a long period of time. And two, the soft silicone-tipped ends are pliable enough that any heavy object (like one might encounter when trying to turn over a roast), simply cannot be picked up. The tips bend when the tongs are squeezed vigorously and the meat slips out of the grip. The push-pull action of the small silicone coated ring at the back of the tongs, which holds the tongs closed or released them, is clever and very effective.
