Super Cool!
By Bonnie Nielsen on Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2011
My just turned 5 yr old, has really been starting to draw on his own freely, started doing stick figures and such, so I got this for him for his birthday yesterday, and its really cool, I was going to get one of the crayola tracing things, but I am so happy I found this, it is a projector with slides, its not very big, you can't fit a whole piece of paper under it, and the pictures can go down very small, to about 4X4in maybe, the perfect size especially for smaller hands, it has a light, and you can adjust the size, and the focus, I have noticed, you can't really get the picture 100% focused in all areas, but that is no big deal, and a kid won't notice this, this is an excellent product, for a kid who is just starting to want to draw on his own, or any kid, this I know will also help immensly with my sons pencil control. Drawing and art is great for all kids, And this is the coolest project for tracing, and it comes with so many slides, I haven't checked yet to see if you can order additional ones, I will though, it comes with plenty though, but if they do have more, I would order those eventually, this seems like it will last for quite a while (I hope), some slides will probably get ruined, But it is so nice, the the bottom opens, and you can store all the slides in the unit, the is a huge plus on this, and I was going to write that the one thing it could use was something to hold the paper in place while drawing, but then I went and realized it did, so nevermind on that. Really really cool toy, that I will definatly buy as gifts in the future for kids.

Pros: -fun activity -compact toy with storage inside (see photo) -neat concept Cons: -poorly and carelessly packaged (photo doesn't reflect how damaged the included paper was (but easily replaced with my computer paper) -lots of small pieces for the slides that will easily get lost if you're not right there with your kid ( we're storing them in baggies) -VERY CHEAP markers see photo after first use. The marker shed all over my floor.

Bought two of these as gifts for a six-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy. They loved it. Many, many, many possible drawings to be made. Fascinated the kids for hours. I really do not remember much about purchasing toys for kids. However, this is a creative alternative, neat, clean and low cost.
Easy to use and good value

My 7 year old and 4 year old can both use this easily; my 7 year old just needed initial instruction and set up before being able to use it completely on her own. Pros: compact, easy to set up, focus and insert various pictures, entertaining, creative, minimal adult intervention and cleanup Cons: limited to tracing their supplied images which were quite simple/cartoon-like (viewmaster slides worked a little, but not well) If you have a serious/older artist, you might go for the more expensive art projectors that will project anything onto a large paper/canvas, but this is a fun toy for the 4-8 year old who loves to draw.

My daughter loves to draw so I purchased this from Amazon for her 6th birthday. She loves it, as well as our 4 year old daughter. It is simple enough for them to use with little assistance and has many different slides and images to draw so they do not get bored with it. The only negative I can see is when they are using it in bright light it is kind of hard to see. I just moved them away from the window and they were fine. I was nervous about this as one of the reviews said it was hard for a left handed kid, which my daughter is. It is a bit harder for her to use, but has caused her little frustration. She has been drawing for an hour straight now. I would highly recommend this, and will purchase more for gifts! Love it!!

My kids like crafts and art projects. they have a small table which they are always at drawing of coloring at. So they already like to draw. This is simple enough for a child to use alone and the kids really get pride out of drawing so well on their own. Whats nice also is I bought some "Grafix Ink Jet Film, 8-1/2-Inch by 11-Inch, 6-Pack, Clear" from amazon and printed from my printer random coloring pages in a smaller size. They worked great and my 5 year old son was able to draw Ninjago and Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles and he was thrilled about this, while my daughter loved drawing the fairies and castle I printed out. I give this 5 stars because it is so useful and easy to create your own images to duplicate. It give the kids confidence and is easy to travel with because just about everything fits inside of it, except the paper.
My kids like it.

I bought it more than one year ago and plan to give it as bonus for their work. I finally have chance to give it to my 7 years old. It turned out both my 7 years old and 5 years like it. It keeps them focused for more than half an hour. Both of them are not good at art, so I am not worried that this will destroy their creativity. I am very happy with this art set. It is a nice surprise.
Very nice product for developing your little artist's drawing skills.

6-yr-old loves it. After helping her put it together the first time she can use it by herself without our help or supervision. Great for developing drawing skills, working on following curves or straight lines, picture composition, etc. A large number of images are included, and the case has a compartment to hold the image wheels and inserts. Comes with marking pens, paper, and cards to make flip-books, but they do not fit in the case. Can be used with any type of paper, markers, pens, pencils or crayons.
My son is enjoying it but.....

Nobody else has said anything like this so maybe we got a defective product but whenever we open or lower the lid it makes a terrible crack, crack, cracking sound like it's going to snap in half. Also, the images don't really focus that well. It does what it's supposed to do but I purchased this for my son for Christmas largely based on the great reviews that I read on Amazon. That being said, my four year old son has really enjoyed tracing the different images and is so proud of himself when he shows me what he has "drawn". My eight year old son has also had fun with it as well. I would give this a definite five stars if it didn't make that loud cracking sound and if it would focus on the images a bit better. (OK I can handle the small lack of focus on a children's toy but that noise is too much for me...it just doesn't seem normal!!) I'm just a bit disappointed - I expected better.

Our daughter got this for Christmas 2012. She and her friends really enjoy using it to trace out their artistic dreams. It comes with a number of different items that can be traced and it is a lot of fun. It's held up well in the ensuing 4 months and has been dropped on the hard floor several times and keeps going. One downside that I can see is that after a while she's gone through most of the stencils and so she is not as interested as she once was. The only other downside that I see is that if the child forgets to turn it off, the batteries go dead, that's true of most toys but it'd be nice to have either a plug-in option or a timer on the switch.
