Casio Collection Men's Watch DBC-32D

I've worn Casio calculator watches for about 30 years. They have improved quite a bit over those years, reaching their pinnacle (for me, anyway) with the DBC 150, which I really liked. The biggest problem with them is that generally changing the battery kills the watch, so once the battery starts going dead, it's time to start shopping for a new one. Unfortunately the databank 150 has been discontinued, and hasn't been replaced by anything equivalent or better. (maybe calculator watches are just to nerdy - and everyone has a calculator on their phone anyway). So as far as I can tell, this is the next - best one, but I don't like it nearly as well as the DBC-150. Amazonian gave an excellent tutorial on removing links to adjust the watch band, which is absolutely necessary. I'll add just a couple of points to his advice. It is helpful to have a better conception of what the "pin" you are trying to remove is, and where it is located. As Amazonian described, it is an "L" shaped piece of flat stainless steel that is press fit into the end of the link. If you look at the links edge on you will see that the link isn't one solid piece, rather it is a central core with another piece of stainless steel "wrapped around" it. The "central core" is the short arm of the "L" shaped pin, and that is what you are trying to drive out of the body of the link which is "wrapped" around it. If you have the watch band laid flat on a work surface with the arrows showing, you will see a "notch" at the end of each link on the side the arrow is pointing. If you look closely, you will see that there is a small "nipple" engaged in each notch. What you need to do is engage this "nipple" with your small screw driver and drive it out past the "notch". You have to remove two pins to take out one link, and remember to save the pins, because you'll need to put one back in to re-connect the band. I had to take out a total of 4 links to get my watch to the correct size. Anyway, I'm not sure if this has helped, or just made it more confusing, but resizing the band is doable as a DIY project, and anyone nerdy enough to wear a calculator watch in the first place should be able to pull it off. Edit: In the end I got rid of the metal band that came with the watch, and replaced it with a resin band, which I prefer. I had worried that the silver watch would clash with the black resin band, but it doesn't look too bad. I used a strap I purchased here on Amazon labeled as a voguestrap TX22G3.
