Hamilton Beach 62682RZ Hand Mixer with Snap-On Case

I just cleaned up my countertop, backsplash, decorative items, floor, and my T-shirt after using my Hamilton Beach mixer to prepare the batter fo an angel-food cake. It works, but it sprays the sticky ingredients all around while I'm using it. I am an experienced 55-year baker and cook, so the problem is not that I'm just starting to cook and don't know what I'm doing. My previous small mixer lasted about 30 years. It never sprayed food around. I make sure the beaters are always grounded onto the bottom of the bowl; nevertheless, it always sprays. I have used it for about one year, so it's not that I have to get used to it. Design-wise, I like the plastic holder that holds the whip and mixer attachments, and serves as a perfectly fitting holder for the mixer. However, to have the speed push-dial on the same dial as the paddle eject is an accident waiting to happen. The first time I used it, I was trying to slow down the speed, and before I knew it, I had accidentally hit the eject, so the mixing paddles were flying around, with a major mess ensuing. I almost returned it at that time, but my daughter said Hamilton Beach mixers are the highest-rated ones of its kind. If that is true, that doesn't say much for today's products.
