We received this for Christmas. We had a cheap 12 year old knife set... I know, pretty much any knife set would be great in comparison. Really though, this set has cut down on prep time and has worked out fabulously. They are pretty to look at and make slicing, dicing, and cutting a breeze. I find that they slice effortlessly through meat with no sticking... like raw fatty bacon, etc.

Nowhere does it tell you that even though they WILL need sharpened (contrary to the ad), Amazon won't get you a replacement or credit your account or offer to get them sharpened for you.
