Love these storage organizers!

I love this organizer. I have a small house and limited storage space, so I use these a lot. I have all-canvas holders in my bedroom for shoe storage. I do not think I would use the clear-plastic pocket organizers for storing shoes. For one the plastic seems more flimsy than the canvas, and I don't really need to see my whole shoe to know which pair they are....also after a lot of use the inside pockets of the canvas gets dirty from the shoes. If the pockets were clear I am sure the dirt would be more obvious. I use these clear organizers for my "other" storage. I have one with a white background in my office and every pocket is filled with all of those little household "extras" that never seem to find a home in a place that is easily accessed. So instead of having a box full of odds and ends taking up space, I have a door organizer filled with anything and everything--but it's pretty much hidden until you step into the room and close the door. The clear pockets are perfect for this use--I can see everything in every pocket without having to dig through each of them. I recently purchased the black organizer to be used in my bathroom. Again with limited storage, I was using baskets on a narrow shelf and digging through them every morning to find what I needed. This organizer is perfect. I got rid of the baskets and gave everything a home in the clear pockets. It is easy to see what I need and it saves me time in the morning. I emptied two baskets into the organizer and it isn't even half filled! The price is right, the product is great. It is sturdy--with repeated uses with all of my organizers, I have yet to rip a pocket. The metal hooks for hanging over the door took a minute to insert into the holes, but it wasn't hard to figure out and it seems very sturdy. I think I have finally run out of doors to hang these on in my house!

Works well for Kids NOT for Adult shoes!!

We bought 2 of these, one for us (the parents) and one for my daughter who is 6. First let me say I liked the fact that it is not made of plastic, the canvas seems sturdy enough and I like the bamboo top it looks nice. However, the pockets are tiny and the metal hooks don't live up to the job for adult shoes at all. But it does works well for KIDS shoes. I wear an adult female size 7(not huge shoes) and these pockets will barely hold my Chaco sandals in the same pocket. My hiking shoes need individual pockets. Putting my husbands size 10 Nike sneakers made the metal hooks bend, leaving marks in my closet door. So putting a man's hiking boot or heavier shoe in will definitely not fly. I bent the hooks back into place a few times but it just kept unbending and falling...it can no longer hangs from the door. I plan on looking at a hardware store for stronger hooks. On the flip side, my daughter's looks great, and it holds most of her size 12 shoes nicely, though her cow girl boots each need a pocket of their own. I would only recommend this product for children as it is non-plastic = non-toxic and strong material that they can even organize toys in. As for an adult shoe organizer I really wish I would have saved the $27 and kept my mound of shoes on the floor in the closet.
