Doesn’t fly far, hard to carry
By Hannah on Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2024
This ball does not fly very far when throwing it. Also, my dog finds it awkward to carry in his mouth due to the weird angles. He will drop it and walk away which is not like him, he loves fetch.

We absolutely love the chuck it brand! We have an 8 month German shepherd who absolutely loves balls. This has been the only brand so far that we have purchased that he can not destroy and he is pretty good at destroying stuff!
Super sturdy

ChuckIt! Erratic Ball delivers a unique play experience for your dog, but its design presents some pros and cons: Pros: Enticing Movement: The erratic bounces and unpredictable trajectory keep dogs actively engaged and excited. Durable Enough: The rubber construction withstands moderate chewing and fetching sessions. Easy to Clean: Material rinses off easily after slobbery play, reducing dirt buildup. Bright Color: High visibility in parks or yards makes finding it easier. Cons: Can Get Lost Easily: Due to its bouncing pattern, it may land up in shrubs, under furniture, or places difficult to retrieve. Not for Power Chewers: Determined chewers may be able to tear chunks out of the rubber over time. Tip: Best for open areas where you can keep an eye on the ball (and your dog) to minimize losing it. Overall: A fantastic toy for dogs with tons of energy due to its unpredictable nature. Supervise playtime, especially for strong chewers. If you and your dog enjoy the occasional mystery during fetch, this is it!

When we had two dogs, they'd play/fight over this ball. They LOVED chasing it and chasing each other to get it. Now with our one dog, he chases and tries to guess which way it will bounce. he plays keep away with me. It's a really fun way to keep the dog occupied.
MY DOG IS IN LOVE, LIKE LITERALLY.

We have maybe 50 balls in our yard. Not kidding. Dog steals them off people's lawns during walks. Most times I don't notice until we get home and then I don't know where it came from. Tennis balls, lacrosse balls, field hockey balls... All my dog wants to do is chase balls. So I bought this weird ball thinking, oh, that looks different. Thought maybe she'd like it. Well, no. She's outside making out with it right now. She's absolutely in love. She rolls around on her back with it in her mouth. Then she rolls all over it with her body. Then she chews on it for hours. Then she drops it in front of me and wants me to throw it. And she runs for it like a banshee. Great product. Buying like 25 more because my dog is spoiled.

Tires out my prey-driven GSD

I just adopted a senior german shepherd from my hometown who I quickly discovered that, while a quiet and well-behaved girl, has the most intense prey drive I've ever had in a dog. She destroyed every traditional tennis ball given to her, and even the tennis ball that comes with the large Chuckit. After driving her 1200 miles up the east coast and settling into her routine, we began frequenting the dog park and it became immediately clear that she needed a ball that could withstand her grip strength and that of many other dogs. (The Chuckit Tennis ball was destroyed for good by another dog after our first visit). The ball is impenetrable. The large size makes it a little bit harder for her to get a good grip on, causing difficulty for her to destroy (or choke on). She didn't love it at first, but now knows its her ball and will stalk other dogs that have gotten hold of it until she can snatch it back. She enjoys the unpredictability of the bounce as it allows her to really channel her prey drive (she attempts to outrun/outsmart it). Speaking of other dogs, many of the dog park regulars have to try and get the ball back from their dog so Mila can have her ball back (it's all she wants, I can rarely tempt her with a different ball--and also all they want, too!). Ruby the pit mix's mom bought 3 of these immediately while at the dog park because of how hard it is to get the ball from her to give back to Mila. I say on a daily basis, "It's the most popular ball at the dog park." And mind you, we have many people who drop the toys their dogs don't love off for others to enjoy. I now have a back-up in case hers gets lost. I rebought the Chuckit tennis ball and it was a mistake--she destroyed it and it sunk to the bottom of a pond after 5 throws (just a heads up--this doesn't float either!). Someone calls it "her special ball" because they just know my dog and her routine now.
