So Happy with This Set of Bowls!

Love these bowls and love cooking with them! I had a set of Duralex nesting bowls purchased in 1980 and a few months ago, broke the largest one. Okay, I can't complain, I used them for 25 years and admittedly, the tempered glass had gotten quite foggy over that time. After a while, I really missed the largest bowl and decided to buy a new set. I bought a less expensive brand, made in the USA, but they were too heavy and the quality of the glass and the workmanship was sorely lacking. I returned them in short order and decided to spring for the Duraflex set. The Lys tempered glass is crystal clear and beautiful, BPA-free, and lead-free. I always feel so good when cooking with them!I use lots of bowls in the kitchen. With these, I never have to hop around the cabinets searching for bowls of different sizes. When baking, I weigh the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, etc. on a kitchen tare scale and these bowls are indispensable for that. Ingredients called for in smaller amounts, such as baking soda, baking powder, and salt, can be measured in spoons and added to the appropriate bowls of pre-weighed ingredients, or, in the case of herbs, spices, flavorings, etc., measured out into their own tiny bowls. Whether you weigh your ingredients or use measuring cups and spoons, having everything you need lying in wait in these beautiful bowls makes baking and cooking a joy. It also alerts me if I ran out of something before I begin, rather than in the middle of making something.This set of bowls is listed above as "stackable", but they are actually nesting bowls. Because each one fit perfectly the next largest bowl, without adding any height, the space they take up in the cupboard is minimal. The small footprint for this many bowls was important to me because I have a small kitchen and limited cabinet space.The largest bowl is 9" diameter and the smallest is 2.5" diameter. Another thing I loved about this set is that I found the bowls for sale individually on different website, so if I break one of these, I will not have to replace the whole set again. Also, on still another website, I saw a Duraflex bowl in the same design in a 10" diameter. Should it ever be deemed necessary in my kitchen, I can buy that and this set will fit right under this set.One of these days I am going to get rid of all the odd bowls and containers in my cupboards and get another set of these to use for leftovers. I think the variety of sizes will assure me a much more organized and efficient refrigerator. I know my cupboards will be, as well.I would recommend this set to anyone who loves to cook and appreciates a high quality product.

Oh my gawd beware

I was just using one of the medium bowls 8-21-21, my husband made me a beautiful salad and I decided to add some baby spinach on top and had put my salad dressing on top to mix in and I took my knife and I was cutting the baby spinach into the rest of the salad, I was just on top barely ever touching the bottom of the bowl at times and suddenly and explosion and glass and a large salad everywhere. I was standing at the counter in barefeet. My husband ran into the kitchen and he seriously looked at me and said DON'T MOVE you have glass all around you feet. We both now have it in our hands also. This bowl shattered and went flying onto the stove next to the counter, all over the counter, hit me and dropped to the floor all around my feet and bounced over the tile in the kitchen. I am stunned ! I bought a multi-sized glass bowl set back in the 91 in Florida down in the KEYS and I only got rid of it because I bought this new set. I never had a problem except for scratches and dull looking over the decades with them. I am stunned and I am angry right now. I have glass in my left palm and my husband has some in his hand because he was trying to get it off my right foot. I am very upset right now. This should have never ever happened. What if I was using the bowl and missing a batter with the electric mixer? What if my small grandchildren had been here standing at the counter looking up and what I was doing as happens so much and the glass would have gone into their eyes or mine too for that matter. I am so angry , stunned and upset right now!!! What crap quality. I am now afraid of the entire rest of the set. I have had these for such a shot amount of time and this size bowl I was using isn't one I would normally grab for, so it hasn't been used much at all. I thank God it wasn't worse. My husband ran and got his shop vacuum and is working on the entire kitchen. I can tell I have fragments in my forearm on my left. I want my money back and that's never going to happen. I am now afraid to use these bowls ! UPDATE: as of Sept 14, 2021 I have not received the promised replacement for the Bowl that EXPLODED in my hands! I sent all requested pictures etc... and zero! These are not sturdy! Today is Nov 20,2021 and ZERO from this company! They wrote me and said to send pictures, WE DID, they said take a picture of the bottom of the bowls and send them, WE DID..... to date they have not sent a replacement for the bowl that EXPLODED in my hand. Was shocked, then disappointed, now disgusted! I am afraid each time I get the remaining bowls out to use, that one of them might explode on me also without warning! So disgusted. Buyer Be AWARE !
