Perfect for defrosting

I purchased 2 of these to use in the bottom of my refrigerator for defrosting meat. I was sick of meat packages leaking and getting all over the other food. So far they are working perfectly and are much easier to clean!

Overpriced
By DMR on Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2011
I am an organizer by nature and have used trays, bins and baskets to organize all kinds of things. However, I had my doubts that this idea would work well in a refrigerator. While trays can keep things orderly and make them more accessible they can also decrease the amount of "usable" space because of the way things fit, or don't fit, on them. Since the contents of a refrigerator are constantly changing, so too would the compartmentalization needs. Just envision having a few trays with a little room remaining on each one. This would be wasting space that could otherwise be useful. Perhaps this is an issue for me because I have a small refrigerator. Taking this into consideration, I bought one 12" tray. The quality is okay, but it is very overpriced. As for functionality -- The feet are a problem. They catch on the back of the shelf and prevent the tray from sliding forward. You can attempt to remedy this, if your refrigerator has wire shelves, by positioning the tray so that 1 front foot and 1 back foot sits between the wires (all 4 feet won't fit). That should enable it to slide in and out. The feet also reduce the height of the shelf by 1/8". This doesn't sound like much, but as a result, a few items no longer fit on that shelf. While you may find a tray or two helpful, keep in mind that refrigerators were designed with open space for a reason - a lot of small compartments are impractical.
