Perfect for distance learning!
By PD in ABQ on Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2020
Look, I ain’t no millionaire living in a huge mansion, so when we needed desks for the yungins, space was a priority. This here desk was just small enough to fit in their rooms and just wide enough to handle a laptop and just enough desktop to write on as well. The shelves aren’t really that sturdy but they can handle a couple textbooks. This desk is definitely a throwaway desk. I’d be surprised if they last more than two school years. Made with cheap materials. But then again, they shouldn’t be “distance learning” for much longer.....right? Because if this is how it’s gonna be from now on, don’t bother buying a desk, get something more useful. Like a beanbag or a futon. Because without a real education, your kids are gonna be living with you a loooooong time. Maybe even get yourself a tent and sleeping bag, just in case you need to get away for a while. I’m not saying abandon your family and run away from home. Just take a couple of days to recharge at one of the many campgrounds that are in your area. Wear a mask, don’t wear a mask. It’s your decision. Just be safe people. Oh, and this desk is pretty cheap.

Does the job, but you might want to save your money.
By Andy Chen on Reviewed in the United States on August 26, 2013
I bought this desk for my new apartment near the university that I attend. I needed a quick and cheap desk that I can buy, put together quickly, and begin to use immediately, because using my laptop on my bed was getting tiring. I found it relatively easy to put together; took me 30-45 minutes to assemble everything. I've only been actively using the desk for around 6 weeks (strictly computer usaage) and it has yet to show any signs of giving way.I live with roommates so I often hear comments and jokes about this desk being cheap and flimsy but honestly it does the job and does not seem to be giving out in any way. I've never noticed any wobbling unless I accidentally bump into it, although that may have something to do with it being in the corner of my room. It has just enough room for my laptop, and any knick-knacks and gadgets I may have can fit easily on the side shelves, which is basically all I need from the desk so it was a pretty good buy for the money. Now for the cons, it has very very little space. That should be a given since it is a "compact desk" but it truly can hold a laptop, and nothing else (disregarding the shelves on the side). This has proved to be a bother when I try to eat in front of my computer as there is no space to rest the plate down. Another thing is the edges of the desk can be a bit of an annoyance. When using your computer on this desk, the edges of the desk will cut into the bottom of your forearms, causing a bit of pain. Since most desks are large enough for you to rest your arm on while typing and such, this problem is rare and maybe unique to small desks like this. I remedied the problem by placing covers over the edge of the desk where my arms rest. Maybe I'm overreacting, but it does seem to become an almost unbearable annoyance if you spend hours in front of a computer like I do.All in all this desk serves its purpose without much of a problem and is a good stepping stone towards a better desk. However, if I am to be completely honest, you might want to skip this purchase if you already have the means for a better desk, or plan to upgrade in the near future (2-3 months). If you do not see yourself using this desk for up to 6 months, I would suggest saving your money and investing it in a better, more legitimate desk.
