best purchase of the winter
By Seyshelle on Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2012
When I knew that I needed an additional heat source to make bedtime more comfortable in my new place, my first decision was electric blanket or heated mattress pad. Research convinced me to purchase my first-ever heated mattress pad. Because they're designed for use underneath sheets and bedding, there aren't any limitations on having blankets over top. Also, people with pets reviewed that electric blankets were snagged by their dog or cat's nails. After reading many reviews like the ones here on Amazon, I ordered the Soft Heat Micro-Plush Low-voltage electric heated mattress pad, and am very pleased with this purchase. Although it was not an inexpensive purchase, getting into a gently heated bed each night has made it more than worthwhile. As others have written, I find it's most effective to turn the controller on high about a 1/2 hour to an hour before retiring for the evening. The bed gets comfortably warm without being hot. I tend to be cold much of the time, and I soon become comfortable, and turn the controller setting down to low before falling asleep. Leaving the setting higher than 2 throughout the night has proven to be too warm for me. I have noticed that there are some variations in temperature in different spots, but this has not been bothersome to me. The mattress pad feels plush and soft and does not bunch, even with tossing and turning during sleep. I have not been able to feel the wiring in the pad either. It's an added bonus that this low-voltage technology is very safe. I'd recommend this heated mattress pad to anyone looking to make bedtime a comfortable treat each evening.

Amazon is allowing companies to sell products that are defective
By Kindle Customer on Reviewed in the United States on April 18, 2025
We purchased this King Size mattress pad from Amazon in 2023. Per the advertisement it has a five-year warranty. One side of the pad quit working after about a year and a half. We tried to switch controllers with the opposite side but the pad still would not work, so we tried to contact the seller. Goggle couldn't find a working number saying the manufacturer might be out of business and the number it found led back to AMAZON. Turns out the company is one of the companies that sells on Amazon. We then contacted Amazon who said it had been too long since we purchased the pad, and they couldn't help. Even though they admitted the product was from one of their sellers and they (Amazon) were still selling it on their site for $32 less than we paid for it a year and a half earlier. It appears they know the product is bad and marked it down to get rid of stock. When we pressed the Customer Service agent for a solution, they agent finally gave us a telephone number for the manufacturer which turn out to be bogus, as it was to another business with a similar name that sold paving equipment. The person who answered the phone said he has received hundreds of calls about the mattress pad that Amazon had given out his number. Looks like we lost our money on this cheap Chinese knockoff import and Amazon is not backing up the products from companies selling on their site!
