Kitchen Aid Gourmet Cookware Set
By bb on Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2012
Have never really had a nice set of pots and pans in my whole life so decided to finally take the plunge. Price was very reasonable and they arrived in a couple of days. These are very nice and the best part is that the handles do not get hot when you are cooking in them. You can grab the handle without a potholder. Love them. They are so shiny. The only thing I noticed is I started heating up some pizza in one of the skillets and the cheese burnt to the pan and then it was difficult to get out the burnt cheese. So, the one thing I will do for now on is to spray some pam or oil in the pan first when heating up pizza. Other than that, love these. I have a glass top stove and they work great on this stove top and sit flat and don't tip even when empty.

Be careful

I have never written a review before. However, after the glass lid of this Kitchen Aid Gourment stainless Steel 12-piece set exploded in our kitchen. I felt it was important for the safety of those who also have this set. I have had pans with glass lids before and never experienced anything like this. However this tight seal had created a vacuum seal is what the customer service department told me. The liability department said to read the instructions and to never put a lid on a pot after you take it off the burner without prying it open first. When we used it to cook some meat, and took it off the burner to wait for the other items, it was then that it vacuumed sealed on. I tried to get it off and so did my husband, in the mean time I went to the KitchenAid website and it had nothing on the site regarding what to do. In the meantime, the lid exploded and there was glass embedded in the surface of the cupboards and in the microwave vent as well as everywhere else. The only reason that we did not have glass in our eyes is that I had just stepped aside to look up the KitchenAid site for information on what to do, and my spouse had glasses on. We do not want anyone to loose their eyesight over such an ordeal. Their response was read the directions; we will send you a new lid, and 15% off without a deadline on any KitchenAid item. Please read the directions before using this cookware set, with the super silicone seals that keep things from boiling over. It does too good of a job at that, now if you can figure out how to look in, not have anything boil over and then get the lid off you can then eat.
