Love It!

I first slept on a mattress topper similar to this one at my mother's boyfriend's house when I was staying with them while I went to school. The next year when I returned to my dad's house, I wanted to get something soft for my bed. I tried a down baffle-box, but the feathers would poke through and they'd drift toward the sides and were bloody impossible to move back without ripping the whole thing open. After a few years of putting up with that, I bought a 20$ foam pad from Target. It was about 1 inch thick and was okay, but not exactly what I wanted. After a few months the foam became squished and wasn't very supportive. Finally, I broke down and forked over the money for this mattress topper. It's just the same as the one I remember. The first night, I didn't wake up (which I do 4-5 times most nights) and even over-slept my alarm. Since I've had it, which has only been a few weeks, I've been getting to sleep much more easily and staying asleep throughout the nights. So far I've woken up once in the night but fell asleep again soon after. Best purchase I've ever made. Here's what I like: It's kept its shape so far. Granted, I've only had it for a few weeks, but it always springs back up immediately after I get up. (This may or may not be relevant, but the mattress topper that I'd been sleeping on at my mother's house, which I think is practically identical to this one, never lost it's shape over the 6+ years of use by my older sister and me and is still just as soft and comfortable as ever.) I like to do everything in my bed, from reading to drawing to using the computer. Normally I'd have to re-situate every so often, but my legs and bottom never get tired on this topper so I can stay in the same position for hours. I have a much easier time getting to sleep and then I stay asleep through the night. The price is definitely worth it. I got mine for 86$, but I'd gladly pay another hundred for it. Things to consider: Yes, there was a slight chemical smell, but when I first opened it I let it sit on my bed uncovered for an hour before putting on the sheets and haven't noticed a smell since. One of my fitted sheets can't handle the added height of the mattress. It is a cheap fitted sheet, so I don't expect much from it, but it is annoying to have it slip off the mattress all the time. My other fitted sheet is fine. It was a better quality sheet and has different dimensions than the other sheet and can handle the height just fine. Update* I've had this thing for a year now and I still love it. It keeps its shape and supports me well. It was a great purchase.

UPDATE!!! DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK!!!!! Breaks apart easily and not as sturdy as I would've hoped

When I first read all the positive reviews on this product, it seemed like the one to get. It was a thick padding at a reasonable price. At first when we got it, it was really comfortable like most people have said after you let it expand. Well now that we've had it for a while, I have to point out some really important facts that you should consider when getting and using this for your everyday mattress topper. 1. You really really really need to either get a thick topped bed sheet to protect this or even better, get one of those full zippered cases so this thing is completely sealed by itself. If not, after a while of sleeping on it and especially if you're a tosser and turner like me, the foam will be torn apart!!! You will have tons of big and millions of tiny pieces of foam all over the place as time goes on. 2. It's doesn't seem to be meant for everyday wear and tear. Maybe for a guest bed that sees little to no use. 3. Rotate and flip at least once a month, CAREFULLY or you'll rip the foam if it's not in a zippered case, otherwise it will flatten where you normally lie pretty quickly. 4. This has to go on something completely flat if possible. If there are any "raised" areas, expect the foam to break apart in those areas pretty quickly. So head my warnings as they are valid ones when it comes to this product. Next time I buy something like this, I'll consider going thicker and making sure I buy a full zippered case for it's own protection. Update 4/2/16 So I've contacted the company trying to get warranty service on my mattress topper which is in 6 big pieces due to the tears (and countless small pieces I've been throwing away since it's been falling apart like crazy) and I've been kinda getting the runaround from someone named "Mike". Originally when I recently posted this review, I shortly got a response afterward stating that I should contact the company for warranty service since it's 3 years. We'll I'm less than 1-1/2 years into it and sadly I didn't realize this much sooner but what I'm going thru now, I doubt it'll make a difference even if I did contact them shortly after I got this thing and when it started to tear. So I've been in "contact" with the company via email for the last couple of weeks now. This company is a little difficult to get in touch with. They don't immediately respond to emails (I mean within 24 hours even on weekdays) and it usually takes me a couple of replies inbetween each of their emails to get any kind of response from Mike (apparently the only one who works there). So Mike states that he'll forward my warranty request to the warranty department. Then I don't hear from him. I email asking him what's going on, it's been a few business days and I haven't heard from them. After a couple of days, he comes back and says that they'll shipping me a box to send the topper back for inspection and warranty service. In this warranty he said they will either fix it (which I don't see how), replace, or refund it. So after a couple days and no response, I contact Mike again and ask him what's the status on the box. He replies back that they couldn't find one and that I'll have to find my own box. I replied back that would be fine but I ask him what about a prepaid shipping label. I get back 2 exact email responses (which look like a generic generated one they send to everyone) that I need to send it back to them and they will repair or replace it and no refund will be issued since they are only the "manufacturer". What??? I send back a couple of replies inbetween asking Mike what about the cost of shipping the thing back since now I have to find my own box. He NEVER responds to that question. I state to him that since I'm shipping this thing from Hawaii, it will cost WAY more than the cost of the item back than buying a new one. I mean who in their right mind would do such a thing? My last email to him was SPECIFICALLY stating this issue and I haven't received a response yet. This has been at least a few days now and having to go back and forth for weeks is ridiculous. And having to go thru a "liaison" person named Mike to do so is just as ridiculous. So, I proceeded to contact Amazon just now stating the ordeal that I've been going thru to get any sort of help. Thankfully Amazon is such an amazing company, and the reason why I spend thousands on this site every single year since I've first bought something, and the supervisor offered me a refund (which is what this manufactured offered then backed out on). Save your money, this thing even though it lists it as "dense" and thick, is really a piece of junk. I could've gone down to my local fabric store or even Walmart to buy those large foam sheets you can make futons out of and it will last way longer than this stuff. I know for a fact that this isn't supposed to happen if it's truly "quality" otherwise the company that makes MemoryFoam mattresses would be out of business.
