"Boss" is right!
By Joshua T. on Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2011
I got this about a week and a half ago and have been using it non-stop since. My biggest concern when buying it was whether it would be tough enough for me (I am really hard on kitchen gadgets) but so far it has held up without any problems at all! Here is a quick list of pros and cons I have compiled in the past week with this new blender. Cons: - Gaskets don't always make the tightest seals, some liquid can occasionally leak out, about a thimble full at most Pros: - POWERFUL! I put completely frozen fruit, full ice-cubes, and a little water, and this blender tears through it like nothing. Seriously, it works better than my $100 full size blender. - FAST! Blends a fruit smoothy to perfection in about 30 seconds! - Easy to clean! No more hand scrubbing! Just toss everything in the dishwasher! BIG PLUS! - Compact! Takes up less space on the counter than my coffee maker!!! In conclusion, this has been one of my best purchases. So far, I have probably gone through about 30-40 smoothies with this thing and have not had a single issue with it, besides a few occasional drips (not like that's hard to clean). My only word of advice would be to make sure the gasket is in the blade part completely (all the way in the well). The first time I used it, I didn't realize it shipped with the gasket only partially in the indent in the blade section and ended up blending it into a drink (don't worry, I noticed before gulping it down). Even ruining a gasket didn't turn out to be a problem though, because it comes with extras! If you are looking at all the alternatives on Amazon, like the Magic Bullet or the cheaper Hamilton single blender, I would at least give some serious thought to the Big Boss Blender set. It may cost a tiny bit more, but believe me, it is worth it.

Acceptable Entry-level
By Customer2 on Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2014
I have owned this blender for a few years. If you’re looking for an entry-level blender, this’ll do the trick while you decide if blending on a regular basis is your gig. If it is, you’ll want to buy a more expensive unit (I just got the Nutri Ninja). My experience is this: My blending fare is typically light: fruits and leafy vegetables with milk or yoghurt. This machine will handle that just fine. Anything much thicker though, like peanut butter, will make it chug and put out a burning smell. I do not usually use ice in my smoothies so I can’t speak very well to that. The screw on “sippy lips” are handy and I’ve used them a lot. The blade assembly is pretty easy to clean, especially the o-ring. Make sure to pry that out and clean it and the assembly separately (after every blend recommended), or you’ll get a stinky assembly. The cups are sort of thin so it’s not very easy to get my male-sized hands in there to clean all the way to the bottom with a sponge. The main reason I decided to ditch this and get a higher-end personal blender is because the axle/shaft that connects the teeth on the bottom of the assembly to the blades on the top started leaking grease. I would only see the grease on the bottom, but I couldn’t be confident that there wasn’t also grease leaking into my smoothies on top. I tried to find a replacement blade assembly, but couldn’t because this is an inexpensive product, so I would have to buy a whole new unit.
