Solid small shredder for cheese or garlic cloves
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on November 9, 2023
The product is well built; solid frame and handle. Nice and comfortable in the hand. The shredding surface is a little more aggressive than another one I was using mostly for garlic, but it works and cleans up easily. I find it easier to use for garlic and ginger root than the Microplane style shredders. For Parmesan cheese grating, it works perfectly. Realize that it is a small size, but for what it is, it's close to perfect for me.

Well made and looks nice, but poorly designed
By Nick Sorenson on Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2024
I think the construction quality of this is very nice. I think it looks very nice. But after using it for a bit, I'm unhappy with some of the design choices. Because the grating surface is not offset at all, the handle gets in the way when trying to use longer strokes like I do with a larger chunk of Parmesan cheese. So to explain what I mean, when you grate the cheese from the handle side to the top, because the handle is wider than the grating surface, there is a lower limit on how far back you can place the cheese without angling it. And if you're using it for a small amount, this is no issue, but when I'm grating a decent amount, I like to get more surface contact, so I'd like to lie the cheese flat against the face. Additionally, there is a bevel on the edges of the grating surface that are taller than the face. So again, if you have a larger block of cheese and try to lie it flat, the bevels on the edge prevent the cheese from actually being grated. I encountered this issue when I tried to reorient the cheese after hitting the handle. My recommendation would be to use a grater that has some sort of offset face, an no rounded bevels on the edges, or if they are, rounded in a way that puts the extra height on the back, not the face of the grating surface.
