Runs very quiet on low fan. Good for larger bedrooms
By Dan Kober on Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2021
Great for 200 - 300 sqft bedroom. Ratings say up to 500 sqft but this is probably on high fan speed. Honestly the high fan speed sound is loud. Wouldn’t want to be in the same room as it. But the low speed is pretty much whisper quite. These are so much better than the ultrasonic humidifiers for air quality. I use for three months in the winter and usually change filter once per season. Simple electronics. A timer would be nice but not necessary as you really want to run it dry if you don’t plan on having it on 24/7. I’ve had an evap3 that I run for three months straight for the last 10 years and it runs like new. I would highly recommend this unit for larger bedrooms or smaller living spaces.

Good. Could be better.

I have used water/fogger humidifiers for a while but this is my first evaporative. First the pros: it is high quality, the container is easier to fill than my water ones, I love that you can use an anti-algae/bacteria supplement and that it has a filter. My water ones are such a pain because I constantly have to clean them in fear of them putting bacteria etc.. into the air. Last, no mess! The water ones end up making everything around it damp/wet and your furniture if you run it high. The cons: the fan is very loud. That doesn't really bother me. I keep it in my living room and fan noises are soothing to me. But if a loud fan would bother you, don't get this model. It runs through water quickly. You can change the setting to adjust how much humidity you want (there's an 'auto' option- you set the level of humidity you want) so you could set it low and it wouldn't run water so quickly. Part of my reason for having it is for my plants. I have a lot of tropical plants in my living room and they crave humidity so I set it high. Last, I like the feel of the air with the water/fogger ones more than this one. I love the feeling of breathing in clean moist air and I don't feel that with this. It does work; I have a hygrometer that measure humidity in the air and it says it's working but I prefer the feeling of the fogger.
