This heating pad is my new best friend plus STELLAR Sunbeam customer service!

I have severe scoliosis plus had a back injury over a year ago. Kind of sucks. I am in constant pain and this heating pad is one of the few things that gives me relief and comfort. I bought one for $39.99 in May 2022. Immediately loved it and bought another in June. I use both at the same time for full coverage from neck to sacrum. I am 5'2" and while one lengthwise gives me full spine coverage, I prefer to use 2 placed horizontally next to each other. The heat is almost immediate. It is deep penetrating heat that gives so much relief. Instructions say not to lie on it for safety reasons but, come on, doesn't every person in pain lie on their heating pad? I recommend using the 2 hour shut off setting to prevent burning youself if you accidentally fall asleep.I rarely use the highest setting of 6 unless I am in so much pain that I want the intense heat to distract me from my back pain. I know, sounds weird, but other people do this too. Distraction is very effective. Anyhoo, the pad does well in the washer and dryer and comes out fluffy and plush. Warm wash, medium dry. Liked these so well that I bought 2 more for the bargain price of $29.99 each on sale.A few things you may want to know:You may get the dreaded "F" code on the controller. Simply reset it by unplugging both ends and then reconnect to the pad first and then hold down the controller ON button while plugging into the wall.If resetting doesn't work, the warranty service is amazing. The customer service rep I spoke to at Newell Brands/Sunbeam was friendly, helpful and responsive. She immediately emailed a prepaid FedEx label for me to return the malfunctioning pad. I called 2 weeks later to follow up and let them know I couldnt bear to be without my beloved heating pad for so long -- just too painful!! The agent went above and beyond and got approval to expedite my return and I received my new pad 2 days later! I love Sunbeam. The warranty phone number on the paperwork seems to go to Sunbeam customer service in French Canada. You can either call that number and hope you get a super nice agent, like I did, who sounded adorable with has French accent struggling in limited English to give me the correct phone number. OR you can skip that and do a search for Sunbeam customer service for the correct number and I know you will receive the same stellar warranty service that I did.Final thought: If you have a cat they are guaranteed to try to steal your heating pad evey single time you get up. Cats are like that. It is WAY too hot for our furry friends who cannot sweat so be sure to only let them use it supervised and on low. Definitely use the 2 hour shut off feature for safety if your pet uses the pad. That's all. Enjoy your new heating pad! :)1/9/2024. Just bought a cheaper 24 x12 heating pad, just to compare. It looked similar to the Sunbeam pad in the photos but it's flimsy - SO much thinner and you can feel the wires. Sunbeam pads are thick, plush, comfy and you cannot feel the wires. Realistically, they don't last 5 years. I'm happy if I get 2 years out of them with daily use. I wait for a sales and stock up. So sorry if you are experiencing chronic pain too. It sucks. Here's hoping we all have a less painful, more functional 2024. 😃 ❤️

inconsistent and disappointing heat
By Moz on Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2024
UPDATE 11/18/244 months and it no longer works! Flashes F and NO HEAT. Based on this and other negatives I've listed, I cannot recommend this product.•••••••••••The heat is disappointing and I do worry that usage will worsen this.Level 2 is just a gentle warming but the highest level 6 is just not quite hot enough for some issues. There is not much difference between 3 and 6. The heat is quite inconsistent throughout the pad and it seems to lose heat the longer it's on.The material is fairly thick and soft (think bath mat). The thickness is great for some areas but not so much for others as it makes it a little less flexible. I'm sure it will "give" better with use.The color green is MUCH darker than appears on screen. It is a black forest green-a very nice color but not what I expected, so take note if color is important to you.The flip side is quite scratchy. I really wish they had put a soft cotton flannel and kept all the warning text for the paperwork instead of on the product itself. That is a real bummer😒.The cord is nice and long, but flat-so it twists. I use it every day so I have to unplug it every so often to unwind and re-flatten it. It has become disconnected from the pad several times so be aware. Also, I like the option to shut off the auto off, but I would like to have the ability of choosing less time- so a 30 minute interval would have been better than a fixed time.I like the safety feature of the default back to auto off. It also defaults to lowest heat level 1, which is a bit of a pain but understandable and smart. When the auto timer (2hour) times out, it shuts off heat but light keeps flashing which is annoying. I go through a lot of heating pads and this one is OK but not my favorite by far.
