Great Egg Cooker
By Amy on Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2018
I eat 2 hard boiled eggs for breakfast every morning, so I used this 1-2x a week. It just died on me yesterday, and when I went searching on Amazon, it told me I had bought it on July 30, 2012 - so it lasted me 6 years!!!!! Easy to use - fill the cup to the amount of water needed - there are different markings for type of egg (soft v hard, etc) and number of eggs. Pour the water in the base, put the egg tray on, poke a hole in the top of the egg, put the lid on and turn it it on. Yes, the buzzer when it's done is annoying, but I can hear it from anywhere on the first floor of my house, which is nice. The only think that would make it better would be if the markings on the measuring cup were done in black. i like that the marks are made in the plastic itself, so that it can't wear off with washing, but it can be a bit hard to read sometimes.

Different experience than others
By rbb on Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2016
Having hard boiled my first 6 eggs I wonder if I've gotten a different product than all the reviewers who rated the product a 5. It cooked the eggs fine but the shells cracked in spite of the hole. No big deal. However, they did not peel as readily as shown in the product advertisement video. Of the 6, 3 pulled hunks out of the egg itself when the shell peeled and one was totally unusable it did so badly. Two were ala video. I raise laying hens and these eggs were about 2 days from being laid so I'm wondering if that is the cause. It closely resembles my experience with normal boiling - i.e. hard to peel. White eggs from grocery store don't act that way so....? Given my experience with normal boiling methods producing difficult to peel eggs I had truly hoped this Kalorik would be the answer but it's clearly not. I may return it - haven't decided yet - but I want to try soft-boiling and poaching first. For the $30 I paid for it, I'm not too concerned - just disappointed.
