Potatoes came out perfect, not soggy
By Freelance on Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2015
I had this item on my wish list for a long time but was hesitant to pull the trigger since I had purchased the stainless steel insert sold by this company and we had a bit of trouble with the quality of the insert (I must have gotten a lemon). I use it with the Cuisinart CPC-600 1000-Watt 6-Quart Electric Pressure Cooker, Brushed Stainless and Matte Black and for the fist time, I used it in combination with the stainless steel insert purchased previously from the same vendor. Secura 6-quart Pressure Cooker 18/10 Stainless Steel Cooking Pot which also fits perfectly in this pressure cooker. Word about the vendor: My experience is that they will work with you to fix any issues you might have. Placed the little stand at the bottom and added enough water to create steam. Added the basket. Placed cut up red potatoes to fill the basket. Used the low setting for 2 minutes. Potatoes came out perfect, not soggy. Great potato salad. I will never boil potatoes again. This works so much better and keeps potatoes from absorbing water while cooking. This is perfect when making home-made mashed potatoes and the only liquid you want is the milk and butter. Bunches of broccoli are next... and carrots...and... thinking of pouching a few fish fillets with seasoning and steaming for a minute at low pressure to protect the fish from falling apart. Once I do the above, I'll post on the results.

Great basket; unfortunately, it comes with crappy handles
By Jen K on Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2017
I bought this steaming rack set to go in my 6 quart Instant Pot. It fits perfectly, and works really well as a steamer. I like not having to deal with the hassle of those lotus-flower folding ones that are flimsy and difficult to clean. You can use it with or without the trivet, which I like. I like options. The metal seems sturdy: it's thicker and has fewer, but larger, steam holes than the fold-up kind. I also really like the straight sides, which have a few holes in them to allow steam through but are solid enough that my food stays in. This design works great for the dishes I cook in my electric PC. The only complaint I have is with the handles. First, I should say that they are the right thickness and weight for the weight of the loaded steamer basket. I just think they are badly designed. We made a meatloaf in this steamer and found, upon taking it out of the PC, that it was not possible to unmold the entire loaf onto a serving plate because of the way the handles block the top. No problem, we decided to just serve it from the basket directly. Well, it was still incredibly difficult to get the wedges out because the handles kept foiling our attempts to enjoy dinner. It was really awkward to get a knife or spatula in there to dig out our meatloaf. No matter which way we folded those darn things, they would not get out of the way. As for cleanup, the surface of the rack cleaned beautifully. But the handles got in the way again when I was trying to clean the inside. Other than being awkward to wipe the interior, though, it came out shiny with no discolorations after several uses. Unfortunately, while trying to dry off the outside of the steamer, I got a cut from the end of one handle where it sticks out of the side of the pot. I think the handle edge could have been rounded somehow, or maybe made longer and then bent back to avoid a raw edge. It's a surprisingly sharp piece of metal waiting to snag your dishrag and skin when you try to get near it. And there are four of them lurking on the outside of the pot. I give this item five stars for the basket, one star for the handles, which averages out to three stars. I've included some photos with a dish towel in the basket, so you can see the handles better. TL/DR: steamer basket is great, handle is poorly designed and not well-manufactured.
