Great product just an FYI
By Barb on Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2014
This is a replacement for the first one I had. This product works really great. One thing the instructions do not tell you is, is do not refrigerate the cookie dough. I purchased a Wilton Spritz Cookie book at the same time as my first cookie press the recipe said to chill the dough. The dough put too much pressure on product and there was a loud popping noise. I was able to finish batch of cookies but was unable to take cylinder off to clean. I called Cuisinart and they explained what happened. Amazon's return policy made it very easy for a return and I now know what not to do.

JUNK

DO NOT BUY. I have made pressed cookies before with no problem, I didn't get ONE cookie made with this press. For every cookie I had to press the cookie, lift the press and then either wait about 10 seconds and it would drop off, or more likely I had to peel the cookie off of the tip. Took FOREVER to get one pan done. I have baked for 40 years, this is a piece of junk. At times the press would also "choke" and I would have to release the pressure, pull the press disk back and then readjust like I was just starting the dough in the tube. I had just bought t his, had made FOUR batches of spritz dough and ended up with a mess and trying to find other ways to make cookies with all of this dough. I see there are some good reviews on here, but there are enough bad to look for another. If you have great odds of getting onde that is not going to work, save your time and money, buy a better one.

This product is amazing for any kitchen. It’s lightweight and very easy to use. Makes my kitchen a lot less work.
Broke after 3 uses (possibly my fault), the company sent a new one when I complained.

I made a lot of Christmas cookies this year - chose this model for the # of disks. I was a little disappointed to see that 10 of the disks are just the numbers "1" through "10" (for making cake decorations I guess). Anyway, I was making my 5th or 7th batch of spritzen Christmas cookies (3rd use of the unit), and the barrel cracked! Here is what I think happened: I may have overloaded the barrel, and the dough expanded. I had put the loaded press into the fridge in between batches while each batch baked, and perhaps the dough expanded in the fully packed barrell - cracking the barrel. At first, Cuisinart said I would have to pay to send back the broken one, and pay for postage for a replacement. How is this "lifetime warranty"? I complained, and Cuisinart just sent me a new unit. So, in the end it worked out great - except the barrel is constructed with too thin plastic in my opinion. Just don't overload the barrel, or let the dough rest in it if you do!

I have only used my cookie press to fill cream puffs with pastry cream, but it works very well for that purpose. It is easy to fill and all of the parts are dishwasher safe. It feels sturdy and well made. The ends are well threaded and don't seem to be easy to pop off during use.
Cheaply made

Disappointed in the quality. Piece of dough got stuck behind the presser and was hard to get out.

Frosted cupcakes with this baby. I can’t squeeze piping bags like I used to and this did the trick. I only wish the chamber holding the frosting was larger. I could only frost about 4/5 at a time. I had to refill quite a bit. Made 100 cupcakes.
This thing is cheap garbage

I'm thoroughly disappointed with this cookie press. It's very difficult screw the top and bottom together because the threads are all plastic. If even the tiniest bit of dough gets in the threads, you end up cross threading it. It takes me as long to open it up, fill it with more dough and close it up than it did to mix the dough in the first place. It's also not much of a breeze to clean. Dough doesn't release well either, whether I'm putting it on ungreased cookie sheets for butter cookies or on a silpat. I sure wish I knew where my mom's old Wilton cookie press went because I loved that thing. Shame on you, Cuisinart.
