Cuisinart Mandoline Graphite

I should have listened to the reviews! We got this, and I realized it's difficult to use. It's hard to adjust the nob that controls the thickness. I can't do it -- I need to get my husband to do it. And I can't change the blades myself; again, I need to get my husband to do it for me. The julienne attachment is no better than my food processor; it simple grates the carrots. The "big" julienne slicer doesn't work any better. After I received and used this mandoline I want to Zabars, a local store, and talked to the knowledgeable store clerk. That's how disappointed I was! He showed me the display model of Oxo mandoline, and I saw first hand how much easier it is adjust the thickness and to change the blades. Also, the whole reason I wanted to buy a mandoline in the first place is to slice radishes, and you can't do that with the big ones (too dangerous). He showed me (and a bought) a small hand-held one. I've used this Cuisinart one, and so now I can't return it. I would if I could. If you are really intent on getting a big mandoline like this, do yourself a favor and spend the extra $30 for an Oxo one. I sure wish I did!
