A Good Chopper
By Disappointed and Dissatisfied on Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2025
Used it to chop some walnuts and macadamia nuts. I the consistency of the final product. Coarse chopping outcome was good enough, haven’t tried the fine chopping. Might need to buy a second chopper while they still sell them.

Blades not sharp; dishwasher safe
By Wolfy on Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2025
I bought this thinking it would act like a kind of "shredder" for soft ingredients. That is not how it works. It works by using the crushing force of the blades and the slots to grind. The blades are NOT sharp. At all. I haven't tried it for its intended purpose, nuts, yet. It is dishwasher safe, so relatively easy to clean in that regard.

is holding up better than previously used and similar models. The construction seems sturdier

We have tried several of these hand nut choppers and this is the best! Have been using it for over 4 months and no problems. The parts seem sturdy and the blades are strong and even hold up to frozen nuts, although probably better to let them thaw a bit. I would suggest trying this chopper. FYI the photo doesn't match exactly the shape of what we received. Our is squared at the top and the lid is attached/hinged. I really like the style we received.
pretty decent

I'm liking this one better than I thought I would. it works better than the last one, actually makes a little larger chunks and a bit less "dust". given the shape it does get a bit of buildup in the "corner" where the blades meet the edge. can be a pain to clean this area. would buy again.

While I can still use it, it dropped from a counter onto a rug on my kitchen floor and the bottom of it cracked off. I tried to superglue the bottom on and it would not hold. So now I just put a paper towel under it and grind the nuts and then take the paper towel and put the crushed nuts into a container. Seems to me that for the price it would be a little sturdier. Otherwise it works fairly well. If I had it to do over I might go with a rechargeable electric one next time.
Prepworks Nut Chopper - Just 'OK'

Prepworks by Progressive Nut Chopper with Non-Skid Base I decided that I needed a nut chopper and purchased this item based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews. My first use of this chopper was for chopping pecans and I was immediately disappointed with the size of the chopped pieces. Even on the course setting, the pieces seemed very small to me - just short of nut meal. I haven't tried the fine setting, as I have no need for nut meal. I remembered as a kid my grandmother had a crank nut chopper that seemed to do a very good job of chopping pecans so I started looking for one of these vintage nut choppers on eBay. As it turns out, there's a never ending supply of those old Androck brand nut choppers being sold on eBay. I quickly bought an Androck chopper that looks very similar to the one I remembered from my childhood. After thoroughly cleaning the item I put it to use and was surprised to find the size of the chopped pieces to be almost identical to those produced by this Prepworks chopper on the course setting. I find the small pieces of nut produced by both choppers impart a different taste to foods as compared to larger pieces of nut that get noticed when you bite into them. Since the Prepworks chopper only provides the choice of either very small or tiny pieces of nut, I'm deducting one star. I've only used this chopper for a few small tasks, but it seems to be sturdy and well made. It produces very small pieces of chopped nut, and performs this task very well. If you don't mind the small pieces, you will likely be happy with this item. I've decided to go back to a sharp knife, where I can chop nuts to the exact size I want.
