Love this mattress pad
By L. Kiddy on Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2016
So we had a mattress pad for years until our house burned down. I have been looking for a replacement for almost a year now but was reluctant to spend $120-$150 for a new one. I finally took the plunge on this one due to the reviews and pricing point and I am glad that I did. I missed having my bed warm when I get in it and the Pre-heat function on this item can't be beat. I bought the King Size with dual control. I would like to address some of the negative reviews that I have seen on this item. First is the location of the plug. Yes, it is at the foot of the bed and is located on top of the bed instead of on the side. This was my main concern when I purchased this because my old mattress pad had the plug on the side. I have had no issues with the location of this plug. It is in the center of the bed so I do not hit it since I sleep on one side. I would like to note that if you were a person who was tall AND slept in the middle of the bed, I could see how this would be annoying but I think that simply placing the plug at the top where it would be under your pillow would be a solution. For myself, this was a non issue. Second is how hot the pad gets. I will agree that this thing is very warm on low settings. I did try to place the setting on High and it was just too hot. I like to sleep very warm and my setting doesn't go past 2. I have a routine of turning it on pre-heat about 10 minutes before I am ready for bed and by the time I crawl in, the bed is so very warm and the setting is already at 2. I don't have to worry about remembering to turn off the heater when I get up in the morning because it does shut off after 10 hours. I will agree with other reviewers that the ability to select the number of hours to shut off would be very nice but for the price, I can deal with what I got. The third complaint is feeling the wires when you sleep at night. I put the heated mattress pad on my mattress and then put a waterproof mattress pad over it and then my sheets and I can still feel the wires slightly. Not so much that it bothers me but I could see it bothering someone who was sensitive to that. If you have the ability to add another layer of something between you and the heated mattress pad that would help with reducing how much you feel. For me, this was a non issue because it didn't bother me and I wasn't expecting something plush with the price point of this item. If even the slightest feel of the wires will bother you, then I would recommend spending the extra money on one that has a higher fill content. Overall, I am very please with my purchase. So much so, that I bought two more in Twin size for my boys. They have permanently camped out in my bed since I have had this item and I know the only way to get them back to their own beds is to give them one of their own. Since I have only had this item for about 3 weeks now, I can't comment on its longevity but I will make it a point to update this review in a year to comment on that part. If you want a heated mattress pad that is functional and reasonably priced, try this one. Update 04/11/18: So I took longer to update this review than expected but I still agree with my original review. The pad has held up beautifully and works as good today as it did on day one. Even the ones I purchased for my kids are still going strong. This heated pad hasn't let me down and I feel that it is a great product for its longevity and working like it should. I would like to see future versions of this item get an adjustable timer but that might increase the price. This is a great heated pad and I didn't have to pay a fortune for it. If you are on the fence, get off and buy this one. Update 01/16/23: The heating pad is still going strong. I have noticed that I can now tolerate a higher level heat (now 5). Not sure if it is because I have gotten older thus colder (LOL) or if the heating element may be degrading. I'm still warm at night so I'm still very happy with this purchase. I originally bought this back in 2016 and here we are in 2023 and it is going strong. I feel that I have gotten my money's worth and if it ever dies on me, I will be buying a new one.

Nope, just nope
By Stacy on Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2022
I loved my old heated mattress pad; it was plush and heated up quickly, simple low, medium and high, and I could turn it on an hour before bed and climb into a fully heated bed, all toasty from mattress to covers. So, when it finally gave out, I went looking for a replacement and found this one. First off, let's just start with the fact that what I received is not what I ordered. It's a different model of a queen sized heated mattress pad, but I figure, same brand, sure, why not. Nope, this is terrible. The mattress pad arrived without instructions, but I figured, how hard can this be to use? I have a bachelor's degree, a master's degree, an advanced master's level certificate and over 20 years of adult life experience. But no ... I don't get this damn thing. It's not a simple on-off, high-low button, and there's this pre-heat setting that seems to do absolutely nothing but turn it on. It has a shut off, but only after 12 hours. I don't know who is sleeping for 12 hours at a time, but I want their life. I tried the pre-heat setting, thinking it would pre-heat the bed and warm my covers before I got in. After an hour of pre-heating, I came back and found an ice-cold bed. Apparently the pre-heat setting is only for my nerves. Once I finally did get the thing turned on and hot, I learned that there ARE 12 settings of heat to choose from, but the increments of heat difference are so subtle that you have to chose from OFF or MELT. I either freeze on the low settings or brave the higher settings and wake up in a puddle of sweat, literally melting into the mattress. Thankfully, it says it's waterproof, so hopefully I won't electrocute myself at night. If you do try and explore the middle settings, the heat can only be felt under spots where there is continuous pressure; so under a pillow or a dead body that doesn't move. My tossing and turning ass is freezing, while the pillow next to me is about to catch on fire. If that's not enough fun for you, then try this out. You can feel the wires in the pad as you move, and if you lean the wrong way, yikes, those wires feel like leaning on a lego. You can usually manage to position yourself carefully atop the wires so they aren't poking you, which if you find that right spot, with the right temperature and stay very still, you might get a wabbit, I mean, the perfect amount of heat on your back (or front, whichever part of your body is touching the pad) while your other side freezes. Naturally, the controls are positioned at the end of the mattress pad which is meant to be at the foot of the bed where you can't reach it easily without getting out of bed unless you belong to cirque du soleil. If you're like me, you want the controls near the head of the bed, not the foot. This means putting the mattress pad on "wrong." With the controls at the head of the bed, where I can reach them without having to do gymnastics under the covers or get out of bed and brave the freezing cold of the room (which is why I have this damn thing in the first place), there's a lovely GIANT knob at the top of my bed that connects the jungle of wires to the top of the mattress pad. Why this has to be on the top of the mattress pad is beyond me, and I'm wondering when I'm going to break a finger on it (or a toe, if it was indeed at the foot of my bed). I'll let you know if I survive the winter with this thing ... no update come spring 2023 means the mattress pad bested me, and I did not make out the other side.
