Great for a cold Kansas winter night!

We’ve purchased two of these. They work great. Set the heat level, the number of hours, and turn it on a few minutes before bedtime. No more wearing socks to bed!

I bought both the Sunbeam and Sealy pad so you don’t have to.

I bought both this Sunbeam queen mattress pad and a Sealy Queen dual control pad. THIS PAD IS AWFUL. Get the Sealy pad. The Sunbeam pad seemed to be a fire hazard: • the lowest setting was SO hot. I would have to turn it off after 20 minutes and then wonder why I had a heated mattress pad at all. You may notice other reviews of people saying the opposite of this, which is concerning to me about the quality control for this device. • the controller stays lit with a blue light the entire time it is on. • both sides would heat even when only one controller was on. • the plug was in the center of the pad, 6 inches up from the foot of the bed, which we both kicked at night. And the real kicker: • the controller would flash on and off an F1 error and buzz every few minutes *sometimes*— I read other reviews that said theirs started like this and then died just outside of the return window. It just wasn’t worth the risk, and shame on Sunbeam for not addressing this poor quality issue. The Sealy pad, on the other hand, had none of those problems: • the heat controls are reasonable: low is low, high is high, and each number provides an appropriate increase in temperature. • the controller’s backlight turns on only while changing settings. • each side of the pad actually heats separately. • the cord-to-pad plugs are on the underside of the pad at the very bottom edge— no risk of kicking the connection in the night. The Sealy quality difference is such a dramatic step up from this pad. The only critique I have of the Sealy is that each side requires a separate outlet— we live in an older home and outlets are not plentiful, so that was a bit annoying. If you are between these two, the increase in cost from Sealy matches an increase is quality and performance! Save your money, get the Sealy.
