Duralex 18-Piece Tumbler Set

I bought these because they're supposed to be chip-resistant and very durable. My household is tough on glassware and dishes. This is mostly because my husband does dishes, which is truly fantastic, but during the process many things have glanced off the tile counter or hard parts of the dishwasher to their detriment. He's super fast and reeeally not that careful. Seriously, my six-year-old son does less damage. But he doesn't do dishes--yet. These are good-looking glasses and the sizes are nice. I stack the little ones and they store well. I would be very happy with them, but one of the large ones got a chipped edge the first month we had them. No one remembers bashing it against anything, which isn't unusual. So while they're decent glasses, if you, as I was, are trying to withstand breakage due to the quick and the careless, these aren't the magic solution. So pick ones you like to look at and don't put too much thought into the choice; you'll get to buy new ones before you're bored of them anyway. It's quite possible there is no solution to this problem! Perhaps stainless...flasks for dinner...flasks all around. I would have given them 5 stars as glasses, as they're perfectly fine, but I took 2 away for not living up to the durability they claim.
