I bought the "limited edition" 10th Anniversary 8" Shun chef's knife for ~ $162 #DM0902. I also have the "standard classic" Shun in the same 8" size # DM9706, cost me $120. My point? They are exactly the same knives.......except the 10th Anniversary LE cost another 42 dollars + Limited run Kai/Shun marketing ploy was a stroke of genius. What you get buying the LE job? Copper clad embellishments instead of of pseudo "Damascus" look. IMO, most of the 6 reviewers may not say so......but will bet the exclusive Shun con job anniversary edition will keep and sell as collector's for maybe 10% a few years from years from now? Fools! Use it, should the copper cladding become tarnished? I personally like the copper clad Shun....a competent and aesthetically appealing knife. DM0906 is the same. Razor sharp Kai/Shun is still mass marketed and OVERPRICED. Want the finest? Check out Hattori!!!! Minutiae aside? WTF....USE YOUR KNIVES, find the best which feels best in hand and go for it. Being retired, I have many different ethnic knives.......So????? I love to cook. And of course, cook for fun and have my foodie group enjoy or diss my creations. I've tested many Chinese, Japanese, French, Swiss, German knives along with USA made LamsonSharp and DexterRussell. I will be selling my old "testers" for cheap. "What is crap maybe someone's gold."

this is the third nicer shun knife that i have had to return due to blade and handle finish problems shun should really work on their packaging / quality control for the prices they charge - this is ridiculous, shame on them
