ACCO Paper Clips, Jumbo, 100 Clips/Box

You get what you pay for, and if this is what we can expect from "Made in the USA", then perhaps we should look elsewhere for a quality product. As you can see from my photo, the upper paperclip is a jumbo clip made probably 30 years ago (yes, I have a bunch of old paperclips); I do not know where it was made, by whom, or what the country of the manufacturer was; but you can clearly see that this old clip is almost exactly 2 inches in length, which as far as I can tell, is the standard advertised size for "jumbo clips". The bottom clip is a brand new one from the box in the photo; it is clearly shorter, and worse, it is made from a smaller thickness (larger gauge) of wire than the older clip. Because of this, it bends far easier than the older clip, and probably can't hold the same amount of papers, either. I bought these clips, though, so I could have a cheap source of small bits of "wire" around my shop (I save wire coat hangers too), so I can't be too mad at them, because they'll probably still work ok for my needs. Plus, they didn't cost that much - it probably cost more to ship 'em. But it's clearly an example of "shrinkflation" in size, and quality. "Proudly made in the USA"? I wouldn't be proud of anything like this example...
