Bought two of these platters for Thanksgiving dinner for 8-people. One for the turkey slices. One for the ham slices. I was looking for platters that would not take up too much valuable real estate on the dining table ... They are low profile, sleek, sturdy, stylish, oven ready and are going to work as intended. I am glad I purchased them. Now, yes, the platter is (14" x 10") measured to the outside edges, as advertised, but for your portion planning, the dimensions, of the flat bottom part of the platter is (11" x 8") ... just say'in.

OK Platter; Mine Has Minor Damages

This dish will serve my purposes well as a crudité platter. As others have noted, it is certainly not as deep-sided as the description denotes, which works better for me personally. The dish arrived packaged well in styrofoam and was double-boxed, but it was filthy. It was only until after I washed it that I noticed a small scratch in the white part on one of the handles, which I hadn't noticed under all the dust. Also, there is a defect in the glaze on the underside of mine. I decided not to return it, since I need it for Thanksgiving, and it wasn't too expensive.
