Great for cats that gorge their food.
By Rebecca Drennan on Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2022
Love this little thing. It’s actually my second one since we have three cats and sometimes they don’t like sharing. I’ll openly admit to being a bit lazy and liking feeders that I can fill and just check in on. With my schedule it’s too hard to feed the cats at the same time everyday so I have usually just free fed. I used to use a basic gravity feeder but one of our kitties it a glutton and has no self control with food so she would just gorge herself and end up vomiting all the time and she was rather chunky. Our vet suggested a slow feeder and I looked at a lot of them but most don’t have a hopper you could fill. I like this one since it slows them down so they only eat when they are actually hungry since the have to “work” to get the feed. I also think it’s mentally stimulating for them but who knows. They have to think and learn how to get the food out. I only wish the hopper on the top was larger, and that’s only because I’m lazy and like to fill it once and not have to worry about it for a few days. Having two of these has helped with my lazy girl problems and keeps the cats from fighting when they are all eating at the same time. Love this little thing. Totally worth the money.I would like a bigger hopper but that’s just me.

So many hopes, so few brought to fruition

The bottom is raised so it can slide around really easily. There is no way to anchor it, not even screw holes and you can guess what my cats did. Two bats and it flew right off the shelf. It needs weight or screw holes or something to help anchor it. That little rubber bit doesn't do squat. I do like that you can change the speed of flow. I don't like that it is so tight and hard to do. It comes apart easily for cleaning. It absolutely contributed to my cat's obesity since she would lay down and put a paw in, shake the whole thing, then eat. It also contributed to both cats and the dogs figuring out that food comes out when you knock things off the counters. I am less than amused by this turn of events. The plastic is fairly durable, my lab put a few decent holes in the lid when the cats would knock it down but otherwise it stayed in one piece and still works even when mangled.I would suggest this for kittens or rodents who can use the extra calories and will be interested by it. For adult cats, they cheat and turn lazy. I had to take it away after only 3 months of use.
