It cuts Great!
By Quigley on Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2023
I am an older female. I used the Greenworks 8" pole saw to cut down a huge Navajo Crepe Myrtle planted in 2008 which grew too close to my house. I cut all limbs in sections from the outside inward. The base of some of the limbs were 4". The two tree trunks were 6" and 7". I cut the trunks from different side to meet in the middle. I did not use the extension piece. That made the saw easier for me to control. Used a 6 foot ladder when needed and did not climb above the 3rd step. The cutting chain is narrow so there was not much kickback when you start cutting. Just place the middle of the blade on the limb and hold it steady with a little pressure. It is self oiling and does not sling oil when cutting. Just monitor the oil and make sure the chain is getting oil. It is easy to take the bar and chain off to clean it after using. It is easy to tighten the tension of the chain. It works and cuts great! If you need one, get this one.

Chain tensioning pin issue
By Robert X. Gonzalez on Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2024
I purchased a Greenworks pole saw in FEB 2024 and finally got a chance to used it this past weekend. It was working great until the chain kept coming off. IAW the instructions, took off the chain, repositioned it and then carefully tightened using the Chain Tensioning pin (CTP. However, it kept coming off. I decided to inspect closer where the (CTP) is located (under a plate with 3x screws) and found the CPT a little bent and stripped. I was trying to obtain a replacement to no avail. Now looking to see if I can find something compatible to replace the CTP otherwise I will find myself with a paperweight at best. The pin appears to be made of a very soft metal too. Without the a replacement CPT, the Pole Saw is essentially useless. I googled other manufactures and they seem to have replacement CPT or similar for their chain saws so this appears to be a common issue across pole saws, but Greenworks does not appear to have replacements like other manufactures. Sad experience so far.
