OK, so this is only day 2, but the fan is great!

OK, so this is only day 2, but the fan is great! Let's hit each point: Noise Level Super quiet on lowest setting... almost can't hear that it's even on and yet provides a nice breeze. Obviously as the speed increases so does the sound level, but at no point is it obnoxiously load like some other fans... bottom line, unless you're very sensitive to sound, you can sleep with this fan on turbo - just white noise. Construction Quality Well, only time will tell, but seems solid enough. Yes, it's primarily plastic, but don't see that as an issue since I don't plan on throwing it against the wall or anything else along those lines. Others have mentioned blade wobble, unstable platform, etc. Perhaps I got lucky with my particular fan, but I see none of that. As a matter of fact, I have the fan sitting on a stool and it's rock steady even while oscillating and on "turbo" Cooling Effect Short of being able to measure the airflow to confirm the advertised CFM, I'd say it moves air effectively and does a more than adequate job of cooling. Especially in comparison to my older Honeywell, which isn't really fair, because that's an $11.00 fan! Cost It's all relative; in comparison to the Dyson AM07 currently ON SALE for $319.99 it's a bargain! But seriously, while I would have loved to pay less, the Rowenta is doing an excellent job and as long as it continues to do so for another bunch of years, I would say it's a good value.

I'm in the middle on this one...
By Koji Kadet on Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2014
What I am looking for is a fan to use in my room at night to generate some air flow as well as consistent (but not overly loud) background noise. I initially bought a Lasko fan and discovered that it really had a bad wobble to the blades. This wobble made an inconsistent noise which made it hard for me to fall asleep. I was disappointed in myself for buying a cheap fan from walmart and expecting it to be good. I didn't want to mess around anymore and I saw how great of reviews this fan received, so I dropped the extra money on this one. I still can't say I'm completely satisfied... I put this fan together and turned it on, only to notice this one has a wobble too. It becomes more audible the higher the speed is. I called Rowenta to ask what I can do to fix it and they proceeded to tell me that it's normal. (they said: "the one we have on our desk here wobbles too.") Why is it normal for a fan to be out of balance? I am disappointed that I spent this much on a fan and it still makes an inconsistent, unbalanced noise. The other complaint I have about it is that if you turn it all the way up, a blue "turbo" light will light up. Since I am using this fan in my room at night to sleep, I do not want a light on my fan. I really can't imagine a situation where someone would say "I sure wish that a turbo light would turn on when my fan is all the way up." It just seems pointless and I wish they put that extra money into balancing the fan blades. Aside from that, I do like the wide range of speed settings and the components seem quality overall. Even though it isn't working out for me very well, it still gets 3 stars because it is quiet for how much air it puts out. Please comment with any questions and I will do my best to answer them!
