Perfect for windows that are difficult to clean
By Diego C on Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2014
First, I will explain the reason I bought this product. I live above the tenth floor and my apartment has big windows with flat glass panels that cannot be taken out of the frame and cleaned safely, I tried cleaning the windows myself at least once a year but it was a big chore, with a lot of effort for each window that left my back hurting a lot. I tried hiring a professional window cleaner but either they would refuse saying that they only clean whole buildings and not apartments alone, or they would agree only to charge a lot, not appear or appear and say they would not clean the external part of the window. Then I saw a review of this product on Wired, and I thought it could be a good idea for my case. Someone in the building suggested it too. So I bought it and now I am really happy with the results, the windows are now transparent again. If I knew it would work this way I would have bought earlier and not worry too much about professional cleaners. Some of the other reviews already covered some of the issues, but basically this is not like a Roomba, you need to be close and checking how the cleaning is going. If the windows are dirty, this is more important still, because the Winbot sometimes stops or have problems going over a particularly dirty patch. And for some windows you have to guide it with the remote control. So, the bottom line is this: before the Winbot I had no other way to clean my windows regularly. If you have a similar situation to mine (big windows that are difficult, dangerous or impossible to clean) then this product is perfect, and you will be happy to have it. The Winbot itselft is well made, there is a quick start guide that helps you with the initial set up and the box comes with everything you need to clean a window close to a power outlet. In my case I bought an additional extension cord, with that the winbot can clean any window I my house. I uploaded two pictures, one of the Winbot working and the other of a window before and after it passed.

This isn't my first window cleaning robot so when I read that it had broken windows I thought that certainly couldn't happen to me (plus I live in Florida and have impact glass). It ran fine on two windows (didn't do a great job but better than nothing) - on the third window I heard a loud pop and saw it fall from the window. At first I thought it had just lost suction and fell - when I walked up to the window I saw I was wrong and it had broken the glass. From other reviews I thought I would have a great customer service experience and they would come to my rescue -- I was wrong. I'd spent two weeks calling and emailing them - the rep I spoke with the first time assured me that someone would contact me (two months later I still haven't heard from them), I've called back and got the voicemail a few times and I've also spoken with a rep that said he was trying to reach a specific person to assist with this type of issue. I returned the robot after 3 weeks without a resolution but I'm still seeking one from them just to see how it turns out - I like when customer service can turn around a bad experience so hopefully they will. In short - if you don't think your window is going to break, it's probably going to break...
