Took this to Poland for a 3 week trip it worked very well and is considered a carry on bag, which is what I wanted. UPDATE 2 YEARS LATER: Still going strong, zippers all work, wheels still in good shape, handle retracts well. I have never been asked to check this once unless I had too much weight inside it, which is not the bags fault. Even then I wasn't charged (gate checked). I've been on at least 16 trips with this bag, ranging from 2 days to 3 weeks, and never a issue. The little top compartment is great for putting things like your wallet or passport/keys/etc. into before going through security so that you can quickly get them out after. It's all about speed for me, this suitcase works! Oh, I have never used the backpack function, which is why I bought it, but I haven't had to it's so lightweight and flexible.

Zipper broke on first trip

Overall the bag looked fine. Just what you would expect. The cloth was durable BUT the zipper broke on the first trip. There we were on the other end of the world with a useless bag. Can't bring home our souvenirs because the zipper won't engage. The teeth just won't connect anymore. Luckily the hotel had tape and we taped the heck out of the bag to get home. Other than the zipper the bag was fine but that's like saying other than the engine not running the car was fine.
