Well built. Silicone coating won't mar the non-stick coating on pans.

My wife loves to stick metal utensils in our Calphalon pots and pans. I don't know why I can't convince her that all those scratches on the non-stick coating are from the metal forks and spoons. We have a container of wooden spoons sitting right there on the counter, but I hear the scrape and turn around to see her stirring the pot with a metal spoon. I had to get that out of the way to tell you why I wanted a replacement whisk that wouldn't scratch the pans. She had a small metal whisk that she used to pre-scramble eggs in the measuring cup, but inevitably she would use it to stir them in the frying pan. Hence, when the metal one started to show signs of rust in the crevices, I decided to get her a new one. We have a big nylon whisk that I use for eggs and such, but I didn't see a small nylon one in my search. I did see quite a number of the silicone coated styles, and based on reviews I picked this one, even though it was more costly than some others. I'm glad I did. This is a very nicely made whisk. The handle is solid and weighty. The loops are long enough to quickly whip up those eggs in the cup. And, more importantly, she can use this in the pan without fear of scratching the surface. It's a great whisk. She likes it. I like it. Our pans will thank us. Small cost for the peace of mind.

Too flimsy

Works alright but it's a bit too flimsy so if you're trying to whisk up a gravy in a pan that has any fond in it you'll end up catching the whisk on it and it'll flick hot roux or gravy somewhere you don't want it.
