Kuhn Rikon Spill Stopper Lid XL, Green

I was very excited when this came, but it's kind of more of a pain than it's worth (and it's not cheap). It definitely does the job of keeping the pot from boiling over, but once it's in place you can't stir the pasta anymore. I didn't think that would be such a big deal, but it's kind of a drag because inevitably some of the pasta sticks to the bottom of the pot. It is also hard to take off when the cooking is done. To do it without getting a steam burn you have to turn off the burner and wait for the water to settle, then remove it with tongs. Again, not such a big deal, but just one more step to do when you're trying to make a simple pasta dinner. I've been laying a wooden spoon across the top of the pot lately and that seems to be working. Wish I'd known that tip before I spent the money on this. I would not recommend this product. It does wash up in the dishwasher nicely though.
