Ordered this item after reading the reviews. All reviews had their own point of view. Delivery was OK, but could be faster. Item was well packed. Set up was instant. Reception was perfect, from poolside to kitchen. The intelli clock did not set so I set it manually. I think it has now received the atomic signals and is keeping excellent time. The pressure, humidity And temperature readings are as accurate as possible in this type of instrument. Internal temp. Is off by one degree, external about 1.5 degree. I have many battery weather stations. This one has the display on 24 hrs. I do not keep it at the bedside but in the kitchen so I can see it most times and first thing when making my hot drink in the morning. The display has a limited viewing angle but I am able to see it from at least 10 ft. wearing spectacles. I have not put batteries in the display unit because a power outage will mostly be due to stormy weather, here in Florida, which I can see from the window. In my experience the sensor batteries should always be lithium, especially in colder areas. Should last about a year but I am expecting less because the remote is collecting more data. The forecast is very accurate at this time. Also, this is the only weather station that has three stage weather forecasts- immediate 4 hours, next 4-8 hours and 8-12 hours. The bar chart is very attractive, just as the brightness . The only thing missing is the moon phase which would make the display even more informative. The bar chart can be changed from displaying pressure to temperature and humidity. Very interesting to see the differences between day and night. I have had it about 2 weeks. Hope it keeps on going but from experience I know all this class of instruments do not last. These home use weather stations are never as accurate as professional ones, but then, look how competitive the price is! I plan to take one to England to see how it performs in more extreme conditions. Will update if possible.

Review of the AcuRite 02008A1 Weather Station
By Mark F on Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2017
The AcuRite 02008A1 weather station arrived on schedule and is very straightforward to set up. It has an attractive, easy-to-read display. The communication with the outdoor unit, which was right outside the window next to the unit, did not work right away and required some fiddling to make it work. It measures both indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity with good accuracy. The clock was a bit of a disappointment that it was neither a quartz nor radio-controlled clock. It loses about 1 second per day. The biggest disappointment is the barometer. The 14-day, (or 33-day) self-adjusting algorithm does NOT work. It started out about 0.19" error at the beginning of the calibration period, and was "accurate" three separate times during that period, but after 14 days it went off the rails and dropped off by -0.15" and after several wild fluctuations, it remains off anywhere from -0.11 to -0.22" today. This is unacceptable. The bad part is that they did not provide a means to manually calibrate this model like their other models. I am a retired control systems engineer, and I have an actual mercury column barometer and another brand weather station that both follow the local weather center readings exactly, and if the AcuRite unit has an on-board absolute pressure sensor, I do not see why I shouldn't be able to manually set the display reading in a few seconds and be done with it. I am going to try resetting the device the next time the actual local barometer reading is 29.92", but I have no confidence that it will perform any better after the calibration period. Instruments should only use algorithms for units conversion when presenting data that is based on a single measured process variable, and should always have a means to manually calibrate them.
